Zeratul mentions it during one of the Protoss missions, so Tassadar, the Executor, and (I think) Fenix knew. Not that they'd spread it around, but yeah.

I still don't see how lurkers are a lazy idea, if people really like them and they add to gameplay. But if you wanted something different, I won't argue with you. Blizz hasn't been all that creative, of late.
