No, I'm trying to make it as a original-style 10 mission campaign, so I'm ditching most of the Hanson, Tosh and Horner missions. And all the Zeratul missions, of course, but I ditch those from consideration even when thinking of the actual Wings of Liberty.
More disappointingly, however, I can't recreate most of the mission gimmicks. From a gameplay perspective, I do think Wings of Liberty is the best game of the series, but that just won't translate.
And I can't find any way of making the Dominion forces in Mission 2 any kind of credible threat. I may have to massively decrease the amount of available resources, or give you only one or two starting SCVs, like they did back in the day. I don't know, I'm still trying to figure these things out.
Zeratul: I have journeyed through the darkness between the most distant stars. I have beheld the births of negative-suns and borne witness to the entropy of entire realities...
Aldaris: Did not! That doesn't even make sense!
Zeratul: Shut up, I totally did!

The Zeratul missions were the best parts of the lore for me. Why would you do such a thing as to remove the only salvageable parts of StarCraft II?
I get my testosterone from making the world my bitch. Should try it sometime. Start small though, don't want problems. Going to the end of your street and back should be a way for you to ease into it.Ah, roid rage. That explains so much.
Also, like Grad, outside of my house, there's pretty much zero nerdiness going down. Pretty sure everyone that knows me would be surprised that I even play video games. Of course, they'd probably also be surprised that I actually think about anything other than strange.

Because we have thoroughly different opinions on Wings of Liberty, apparently. I see a strong story behind the poor execution of the Terran portion, but the Prophecy missions fail at every level. The thing was obviously not even finished and the remains of a previous plot are blatantly obvious through the seams.

I don't see how a dolled up love story could be anything but mind rape no matter how well it is executed. Something, anything, concerning actual science fiction is infinitely preferable, in my opinion.

^ What if the love stuff was removed? We'd still have the sci-fi stuff in Raynor battling an evil Terran empire that he had helped create unwittingly, crazy aliens guarding ancient artifacts and knocking over the queen of a powerful group of space bugs.
As to the nerdiness. Isn't the fact that I engage in here regularly already count as being nerdy? I'm too lazy and totally inept at even attempting to make a campaign on my own. I can't even write Starcraft fanfic without me being too critical of it.
Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

They failed because this is a sci-fi universe, not some fantasy BS crap, which is so far what the Xel'Naga have been emphasized to. Back in SC1 and BW we didn't have to put up with this. The Dark Templar Saga Twilight and its clues on the prophecy only amplified all this.
Unless the WHOLE of the picture is improved in LotV, which isn't likely anyways, I just don't see it happening. It's not like Zeratul has even revealed the full picture to everyone anyway.

I draw pretty pictures and schematics. I also wrote a short story based on Fenix's resurrection, heavily influenced by new wave sci-fi.
Aaand sold.
Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow
Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?
The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

I suppose I should actually post something relevant eventually.
I helped design this: http://blizzforums.com/showthread.ph...New-Zerg-Unit&
I wrote this: http://sclegacy.com/feature/9-contri...aking-mechanic
And I also believe I won second place in a macro mechanic suggestion contest for Mineral Silos to increase overall map resources for late game focused plays. Sadly I cannot find the entry or contest info as it was some time ago; perhaps Gradius has it archived.

Not sure I'm catching your point here. Are you saying that there's still plenty of sci fi stuff or that, even without the love story, its all fucked anyways? If its the former then that's a pretty bad reduction of what StarCraft was and could have been. If its the latter, well, you all know my feelings on that. We'd still have the sci-fi stuff in Raynor battling an evil Terran empire that he had helped create unwittingly, crazy aliens guarding ancient artifacts and knocking over the queen of a powerful group of space bugs.
I liked the Dark Templar Saga enough to read the trilogy through twice fairly quickly. It showed so much promise that it was one primary things that blinded me to all of the indicators, that, in hindsight, should've been obvious. I should've never anticipated StarCraft II's lore to begin with, should have just stuck with MP.The Dark Templar Saga Twilight and its clues on the prophecy only amplified all this.
