I love Neil Harris, and can respect George Carlin (though he can be depressing sometimes).I hate George Carlin. I also hate Neil Patrick Harris, but that's neither here nor there.
Okay then, Nissa, who's your favorite comedians?

Aaand sold.
Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow
Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?
The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

I wonder whyI hate George Carlin.I can respect George Carlin but only in small doses and he's far from a go-to comedian for me. He'll be funny for a while, but then he'll reach a joke that was only made possible because he has so stupidly simplified the problem to the point of absurdity. His humor works best for me when it cuts through the bullshit and makes a point, not when he is purposefully dense and ignorant, which basically cuts out most of his recent work.
Neil Patrick Harris, though, I don't understand how anyone can not like him for his comedy. I'm curious, why don't you like him. This should be legen--- wait for it ....

I'm not surprised Squibb adores George Carlin's ignorant reductionism so much. He was a funny man who could really cut through to the bullshit, but sometimes he just simply missed the point and only made an ass of himself. Not sure any educated, rational mind could deny that.

None. Like I said, my sense of humor was destroyed by the Illuminati in the early 00s. I did see a British comedy show on growing old once, though, and that was pretty funny. Alonzo Bodden had some funny jokes at times.
I see my instincts were not wrong, then. I have very good intuition, and I intuit that I would not enjoy Carlin's work. So he's a no.
Ew, he's not even close to being funny. Well, except for the sing along blog thing, that was pretty funny at parts. How I Met your Mother is trash, on the other hand.Neil Patrick Harris, though, I don't understand how anyone can not like him for his comedy. I'm curious, why don't you like him. Get ready to judge me in 3...2...1...
The real trouble with NPH is his hype. I hate few things worse than overpraised things. He's got this acting persona that presumes he can get any girl he wants, no matter what role he's actually in. Seriously, look at the roles he does. So it feels like he's rubbing everyone's face if he were after girls, he'd put all the rest of the guys to shame because they're scumbags in comparison, while he's a sensitive little bunny. I don't know if this persona was created by him or his over-zealous fans, but it feels extremely arrogant. That, and so many people love him when he hasn't done anything that great. NPH and Alec Baldwin just make me nauseous.
To sum it up, I guess I dislike NPH because the Hollywood crowd expects me to. Alec Baldwin is pretty arrogant too, but he doesn't quite have the hype so it's not quite as bad.

1) Neil is gay. Very gay, in fact.
2) The persona you speak of is the result of his terrific work on the show 'How I Met Your Mother'. Just a few years ago his persona was mostly in black movies as just that annoying white guy that black people tolerated because he's entertaining. Then he went on to having some better roles, and then finally what we see today. The point being, is that he tends be known ONLY for one particular role at any given time even though he does much more.
3) His role is satire. Poor and simple. His lifestyle is not glorified in HIMYM since it mostly gets him in trouble, most of the episodes are spent laughing at him, and many episodes are spent building up to the moment where he repents of his ways.
4) He's the straight equivalent of the guys from Will & Grace or Modern Family. Straight guys playing guy guys better than gay guys can play themselves, and, with Neil, a gay guy playing a straight guy better than a straight guy can. It works very well in a comedic setting.
