She'll have a kid. (Yes, that's speculation.) She did want a consort, after all. And she used her body to ensure he was attracted to her, so keeping those secondary sex characteristics were important. (Maybe that's how she got Raynor to agree with her in Brood War.)
Remember top secret #1 in Deception? "Offspring of Infested Humans." The Confederates couldn't control any such children, but Kerrigan could. A newborn infested terran might require breast milk. However, even if a zerg child could grow up faster, they'd be empty-headed unless educated, and that takes years, so her strategy of infesting adults is probably a better idea.
