I think this is a skosh more realistic than flying 'goons.

At least the dimensions they have for some of the units seem pretty accurate, at least comparable to the measurements I calculated out some time ago.

Having Vultures that "fly" isn't really a big stretch at all. They don't work on the same methods of modern hovercraft. Your typical hovercraft sits on a "ball" produced by air being compressed under the craft and contained within a curtain of sorts. The Vulture works more like a helicopter — producing a stabilized thrust that enables the vehicle to maintain an altitude. It wouldn't be too hard to adjust your thrusters so it would take you to a higher altitude, but naturally it takes more fuel. Where it would start to get ridiculous is if Vultures could do things like match the maneuvering capabilities of an aircraft or achieve escape velocity.

I agree, I found the opening scene of the second SC comic quite natural. Vultures work by means of combining conventional thrust with anti-gravity, the latter mechanic we know sadly little about, so I wouldn't compare it so quickly to helicopters.

Well, they do have Jetpacks that allow them to jump high cliffs. I don't see why they couldn't jettison themselves into the air for an aerial advantage while throwing or shooting stuff.

Oh yeah, haha! This setting has given Khalai control over psi, while Dark Templar -- and zerg by extension -- are granted magical abilities.

I remember another RPG that explored the period of zerg internecine and various cerebrates grappling with the loss of the Overmind. It was pretty interesting. I'll see if I can't find it. I think either Mya Thevendra or another legendary SC fan worked on it.

    EDIT Interesting timeline I found.

Alright people, we need to get our own SC RPG going.

    shit.

Regarding the vultures flying thing I think that makes a lot of sense. They're only "flying" like 50 feet above the air. In the game, when wraiths fly and 10,000 feet, vultures as an ground unit makes sense.

And I doubt they can fly at 50 feet For nearly as long as they can maintain a average hoovering hight.

In a Goliath? Isn't that too advanced? We are talking about really small mecha here.

Do Vikings and Wraiths have inertial dampeners? I'm sure they could fit one into a Goliath if they do. These are the Terrans that can blow up planets in Terra forming accidents, so its not beyond them.

Frontline, I haven't read it myself, but I know its not a Protoss bombardment, this is a protoss bombardment:

I posted this one because the normal image with regular color is fuzzy.

Not sure, but in one of the old SC novels, they say that a Siege Tank can manipulate it's mass. However, that would make the siege mode completely stupid, so probably the writer just didn't know wtf he was talking about.
