A: After November 12, 2009, you won’t be able to log in to the game unless you merge your account with a Battle.net account. You will need to log in using your Battle.net account username (your email address) and password.

I saw this on the official forum, too.

If this information is new, it could mean that battle.net is developed enough for StarCraft II's beta to launch... but it could be unrelated.

I think it has to be connected though, because other than the forums, the new battle.net hasn't been used for anything. At least as far as I understand it; I haven't played StarCraft I or Warcraft III online recently. Has anyone who has done so noticed any change in the account?
