I have nothing but dread for Legacy of the Void. It's the Protoss that have been most screwed over by bad writing, as nearly every bit of Protoss involvement is dumb in some way. The Tal'darim are extremely shallow, Zeratul's a herp a derp, Protoss canon has been steamrolled, and that one scientist chick that showed up in HotS was really boring.

I feel nearly physical pain for what they've done to the race that's the favorite of most of us here.

Lassara could have been so much better, her death was understandable, but I had hoped she would have shown a hell of a lot more hatred on the Leviathan.

Hard to disagree.

The Zerg got it bad in WoL due to the Overmind thing and then had more dirt kicked into their eyes in HotS what with how they implemented the Primal Zerg, so I guess it's now the Protoss' turn for some rodgering.... again.

You're ASSUMING they'll get the rodgering, maybe Blizzard will spend 90% of the game with petty bickerings and such, and pointless fighting.

They will do that and pretend the Dominion military wasn't totally smashed in WoL and HoTS.

Why? By then the Xel'Naga hadn't even landed on Zerus yet, so this was well before Amon desired the Zerg as a weapon.

The Aeon of Strife started right after the Xel'Naga left Aiur. And Amon was there when the protoss were created.
