How did you get your username?

Self made "namification" of the word "Equilibrium" first used as a character name in World of WarCraft. I grew to like it so much I used it everywhere else, and now it is pretty much my identity.

Hoo boy.

Well, when I got a pet snake and was 11 years old, I named him "Quirel", because he had a design on the back of his neck that looked like a face, and because I hadn't read the first Harry Potter book recently enough to know that it was spelled "Quirrell".

About one year later, I started playing Runescape and needed a username. Everything I tried was already taken (LotR character names, LiquidMetalMan, etc) and my brother suggested I use "Quirel".
In just about every forum after that, I used it as my username... until the Halo Wars Forums. Some sort of snafu when I signed up resulted in an account I couldn't access. So, I tried again, this time using an extended version from a fanfic that I never got around to publishing. Rasq'uire'laskar.

I probably would have only used it for that forum... but I posted on that forum a lot. Made plenty of friends, and became known as "The sarcastic guy with a name nobody can pronounce."

I still use "Quirel" every now and then, mostly on forums which don't accept apostrophes in usernames. Hell, yesterday some of my friends were disappointed that I didn't use the 'proper' format when I joined a gaming forum.
