I probably would find that a bit much as well, but all it would really be is a giant mini-map. It would not be easy at all to control units like that.

Actually this sort of camera views lag games and makes them unecessary at some point.

Im ok with pan only, but would like to have a place were to close in and look at buildings and stuff. (duno if the camping test-place still exists)

What? Changing camera view shouldn't make a game lag.

Unless you have a shitty computer. I remember playing wc3 on my old computer (really old) and when I was looking closer the game was lagging a bit, especially when I was doing the action of "pitching".

That's odd, pitching back would logically be more difficult for the computer since you can see more polygons and objects, but pitching in closer shouldn't.

Lag can be controlled by drawing distance.

And remember -- this is years after WC3. Things will be much better.

Rotate would be great. It doesn't give any advantage whatsoever and it would be really useful in watching replays.

Here's an idea. Add Rotate/Zoom/Pitch in replay games only, afterall it is an Esport.

Because the angle changes. Iīm guessing that WC3s engine doesnīt mesure which Polygons you canīt see (back of a object) and calculates them anyway.
That means the more objects are in your "window" the worse it gets.
That is especially problematic in Multiplayer - if one guy with a bad computer somehow manages to zoom out a lot EVERYONE lags (they have to be syncronized for Multiplayer to work). That actually came up in the development of a UMS I was involved with.

I don't need anything in-match, but everything in replays. Or singleplayer. That sums it up

Definitely rotate, with the ability to permanently change rotation and reset position back to normal view with the press of a button. The implementation they had in WC3 was pointless.
    I completely agree to this.
