You're posting in the wrong forum then. Pretty much everyone here agrees that SC2 was monkey hurlage. Hawki and Darth Yam went their separate ways and have not been heard from since their departure.

What you want is the NA battle.net story forums, a veritable cesspool of villainy & scum. :P

Calling you a troll is another way of saying 'we're tired of arguing with you, because we don't know what it'll accomplish'. It's also hard to see what your opinions really are other than 'fuck WoL', I guess?

I actually like WoL and its' story more then most of its defenders, you know? The story is actually one of the best stories in a game, which is rather worrying.

For example, it loosely has the structure of a monomyth and the hero's journey, something that almost no other game has, including overrated shit like Mass Effect (2/3). It has more realistic characters then almost any other game. It is an amazing story -- for a game.

Me: I will not be stopped. Not by you, or the moderators, or Activision's lawyers! I will rule StarCraft, or see it burnt to ashes. If you get in my way...

    This one made me laugh:

"Like, go to Campaign Creations or StarCraft Legacy forums - where rants are actively encouraged and even started by the mods!"
Lol I like how you incorporat StarCraft quotes into your posts.

I don't get it. Do you like StarCraft II or not (Please say no )? Do you like Vanilla and Brood War? Do you really live in Afghanistan lol?

I really don't like that JohnnyZeWolf guy. The way he talks, I doubt he even played Vanilla and Brood War and he's always saying SC2 is better on Battle.net. Sometimes I wish SC2's writers would just come out and say 'We wrote SC2 badly and all the critics were right!' just to shut him up.

Reading that convo on Bnet, TBH I wouldn't mind rewriting the campaign for WoL but I have two problems:

    1. I don't know how to use the Map Editor.
    2. I don't have time to learn because I have a family to take care of. I'm a busy man.

He sounds like a young adult with an ego-problem. He was basically asking people to create maps for him on the basis of 'if im the most passionate and creative, I don't need to do any work to get what I want; people will just listen to me if I sound passionate enough'.

He's an SC 2 fan, probably because he enjoys the gameplay (to me, it feels clunky; my opinion is more acute than most in the matter of gameplay, though), and he supports the campaign's story out of principle. Just an ego-blind thing; he doesn't want people finding any reason to hate SC 2, even though hating the campaign doesn't really reflect hate upon the gameplay and most people are critical enough thinkers to point that out, especially when it comes to games where it's fun your having and thus you care to think critically about it (even if you aren't normally a critical thinker).

'We wrote SC2 badly and all the critics were right!'
Blizzard is a corporation that looks at profits. Therefor, internal opinions don't matter. If the internal opinions come out, people could lose jobs, since there are actually entire departments dependent on writing (the bullshit is palpable, I know).

Anyway, it's a corporation that profits from making games - which is a creative-intensive anything goes sort of market (being 'creative' really just means 'flexible/do whatever, so long as it meets market expectations' in business-speak). Really, they're worried about maintaining consistent PR (public relations), instead of good writing that builds upon old ideas or could get people that actively indulge in fiction (ie. myself) invested in the universe.

It'd be inconsistent PR if they suddenly came out and said 'we fucked up'. In other words, corporations don't usually communicate with their fans. The GMs (game masters) are the only connection - they try to approach fans on a personal level, but that level remains mostly personal and acute within game logic, rather than the game as a whole. If you say 'this game sucks', they'll say 'I'm sorry you're dissatisfied' which is an ironic, diplomatic way of saying 'why are you still playing, then?'. If you say 'good, I'm glad that you're sorry... but if you're really sorry, you'll fix the game!', and then they say 'I'll see what I can do' and ultimately do nothing, because their job doesn't let them do anything. Then, they establish enough of a rapport with fans so that the fans start defending GMs. Eventually it builds that in order to defend GMs you have to defend blizzard as a company and the way it's been handling PR so far.

That's pretty much why things are the way they are. Catch flies with honey, not vinegar.
    -------

I'd rewrite WoL only on condition of:
    - I'm not making levels. I'm just writing some bullshit.
    - I care enough. Someday maybe. But right now, no.
