Mengsk did terrible things in Rebel Yell but should you rebel against him or not?

1) You have no choice in the game.
2) The choice in real life would be obvious.
3) You're completely missing my point. Not one thing you have mentioned is any more likely to be found in science fiction than in fantasy or anything else.

It's quite simple, really. Aliens want to speed-up evolution.

Like I said, it's the "closest" thing, not a great example of it.
