Saw the Wolverine this weekend:
Hidden Content:
Getting a sick mass effect vibe from this (and not just because the title is a ripped planet name):
Hoping for some sci-fi warm fuzzies. It's been a while since the golden age of sci-fi ended with the cancellation of Caprica & SGU.
Tried to get into Star Trek. It's boring. I really can't say anything else about it. I'm sure it was good for its time though.

*Puts on pompous top hat and looks down nose* The title was actually ripped from the ancient Greek's concept of the perfect afterlife in which admittance was restricted to those who were either privileged and justified through heroic or righteous actions.
Man, I can't wait for this movie either! District 9 was awesome so I think this is going to be pretty solid, too.
Funny, Ronald Moore cut his teeth on Star Trek before going on to make Battlestar and Caprica, so there are some pretty good bones in Trek if you know where to look. I'd recommend Deep Space Nine as an entry point if you're looking for that sense of familiarity since it's the most consistent "war-themed" of the Treks. Or, you could down the route of Babylon 5 - it's quite theatrical but there's some great high concept sci-fi going on there.
SGU was good and getting better, but I found that it was aping and capitalising on the feel of BSG onto a more traditional Trek type show.
Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

For anyone who is addicted to Breaking Bad and is getting sad that we're in the midst of its final run, here's a lovely stroll down memory lane of all the most memorable moments. Ah, Good times!
Obviously, spoilers abound.

Saw it last weekend. Pretty decent. Jodie Foster was great, but Krueger had the most unfitting voice ever. He's a badass mercenary but sounds like a faggot. :P
He also looks like Arcturus Mengsk if he was homeless:
Oh man I love it. Still have yet to buy a TV at my new place, but still can't wait to start watching again. So sad there won't be any more episodes.

I think it's partly because Sharlto Copley kept his natural South African accent for the part.
Lol, that image makes me think of Mengsk at New Gettysburg: "Belay that order. We're moving out".
"Helmsman, signal the fleet and take us out of orbit. Now!"
Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

Just finished season 3 of Breaking Bad. Damn good show. One of my tops most definitely, probably favorite. Can't believe I held off for so long because I had seen so many crime shows that I figured it'd have nothing new for me. I was completely wrong.
Downloading season 4 now, can't wait.
Rest In Peace, Old Friend.

Breaking Bad focuses on much more personal matters. The Wire is more about the social and political causes and effects of crime. There's definitely memorable characters (it spawned about a dozen careers I had never known came from this) and the dialogue and plot are excellent. However, it's focus is on the "bigger picture". For that reason, I'd say it's more for people who are personally affected by crime in their real life or have an interest in sociological speculation, otherwise, it might be a disappointment coming from Breaking Bad to The Wire. It's hard to beat the introspective take on crime that is in Breaking Bad. However, it is still an excellent show, and, for what it's worth, the highest ranked show on imdb last time I checked. When it comes to complex threads of conspiracy and deceit nothing beats The Wire. You might could think of it as a criminal Game of Thrones in that it has many, many complex characters with complex motives carrying out complex plans. Plus, it has Omar. Omar-fucking-Little. Did I mention it was complex?
