No, I've read all the books, unless you mean all projected seven books (which I bet will be increased in no.), then no, course I haven't.
Anyway, I'm not disputing anything you say, but I can't change my own feeling that Martin's use of anti-cliches have become cliches in themselves, or at least, cliches within the scope of the own work. The reason I've argued that WoL is an effective ending is the same reason I'd like to see Martin go the other way - after terrans being screwed over in every campaign (not just SC1 and BW), it's against the norm when this doesn't happen, and more effective for it. Likewise, when characters can be killed off at the drop of a hat in ASoIaF, and usually ingloriously, it's against the norm when they live, or at least go out in a blaze of glory. At this point in time, that would have as much shock value to me than the deaths of Ned or Robb Stark, because those are the kinds of things we've come to expect and have been repeated over and over again.
