Haha, I'm glad about how meta-self-aware this story is.The very first ancestor of what is about to be the production-model Warhound was an SCV.
Also,
Hell yes, concrete, specific numbers.They were seven meters tall and bipedal,

Awesome story. I never thought I would find the short novels more interesting than the game itself, but I really do. The author even takes the time to justify how the character can get to the town. The only part that made me raise an eyebrow was when they talk about a shot going at three thousands meters per second, but that's just because I'm an engineer with an interest in these fields.

It's too bad that Drenthe's masterpieces are not as appreciated by those incompetent holo-vid reviewers. Those talentless hacks will never understand what it takes to be a true artiste.

And I consistently wanted to punch Drenthe in the face. In a loving, brotherly sort of way. Excuse me, Visions of Khas wanted to punch him. In the face.You're not the only one. I really like how the character of Drenthe had this internal consistency about him (whether you liked him or not is irrelevant). It never felt that what he did throughout the story was out of character.
This story was refreshingly silly, and for that VoK approves.![]()
Aaand sold.
Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow
Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?
The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.
