2 clicks and 3 separate windows to get to the actual content from here. This forum can be so odd at times...

Yeah, why do you post a link to the home page, that then links to the article?

Because like most of news providing sites the like to know by the view counter, how much the article is popular
Mass Effect Universe Fan, I support Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Game of the year award! ME2 still is being the best rated game this year! Keep it up

Makes sense. Why not have the article link in this forum go directly to the article and not the homepage? Then they'll get an idea how many people browse these from the forum vs. the homepage.
I browsed the homepage of this site once during the unveiling of the new layout, and haven't had reason to go back since.

I think it's just an attempt to get views to the main site.
I must admit that the home page interface is a bit.........odd...

TBH everytime I come here it's sclegacy.com/forums that I type in the URL.
There really isn't any reason for me to go to the main site seeing as how everything is going to be posted on the News forum.

This would be the reason that I don't read most of the SC:L articles... It bothers me that I click the news thread just to have to click another link to get to a page where I have to click another link to get the full story. It's not really a lot to do, but it does make me reconsider doing it.
Please stop the spread of Mass Effect!!!

I'm real sorry that I'm wasting 4 seconds of your time and the ridiculous amount of computer resources to open 3 tabs. I'll make sure to remedy my mistake in the future.
Always play with fire.

There are literally thousands of people who actually visit the front page as opposed to the handful of you who have pigeonholed yourselves into the forum. Start going to the front page & then it's only 1 click. We have plans to add more features to and rework the front page, so be patient.
Also, we're not going to totally ignore consistency/professionalism and randomly link to the front page & other times to the main article. That doesn't make any sense. And as I've said before, we might want to implement an automatic system in the future - in which case you guys should get used to it.
The other alternative is to have blog-style comments on the front page, in which case you guys wouldn't go to the front page at all.
