League of Legends is too similiar to WarCraft (and therefore WoW) to be made into a successful MMO unless it really, really is unique, but then you're probably better off just keeping the MOBA format with premium content.

You're forgetting Blizzard All-Stars. We'd get it before a WCIV announcement nowadays. Heck, we'd get a Titan announcement before WCIV as well.Originally Posted by Alar

Lore-wise, I guess it's possible, if a MMO was set before the League of Legends was actually formed and magic ran rife (or whatnot, limited knowledge of backstory here), but again, there's the financial aspect.
In what way? They share a similar aesthetic as far as I can tell, but apart from that...Originally Posted by TheEconomist

Art, focus on heroes, the lore is the similiar, characters are similiar, high fantasy setting, attempts to be an all-encompassing mixing of fantasy tropes, I could go on and on and on. The game is a DotA clone, which borrows heavily from WarCraft.

Sheesh Grad, give Blizzard the credit they deserve. I'm sure they'll use a different server busy error code for HotSTotally expect them to keep the red though since who really wants to palette swap these days.

I've fought for the Terran revolution, I've seen the promise of the Protoss, and now I'm ready to join the might of the Swarm...

Depends what you mean by "ready." I've got my collector's edition pre-ordered and ready to ship on one level, but won't be installing it right away. If you mean "ready" in the sense of everything the release will bring on a community level, I...well, let's just say I'm reminded of the effects WoL had on wiki editing back in 2010, and not in a good way.Originally Posted by Gradius
