Also, it doesn't come from the US. It comes from Mexico and Africa.

Regardless, this is about the nightclub tragedy, not us.
    *scoff*

I was posting about the fire (or more generally, that shit happens) when you took it upon yourself to make it about us. Troll.

I know, that's why I'm personally getting it back on topic.

So all of a sunden, every single nightclub in Brazil starts being checked by the police and fire departments.

Guess what? They can't find a single one that obeys ABNT's (Brazilian Association for Technical Norms) requirements. Nightclubs all over the country are dangerous - except extremely top notch ones, the ones that not even wealthy people can afford. I mean it. I have wealthy relatives and they do go to those places.

So the fire could had happened anywhere in Brazil. But what is the media doing? Trying to blame Worker's Party governor Tarso Genro. Brazilian mainstream media opposes any left wing politician (I mean, if we can call Genro that :P). Have I told you they supported the Military Dictardorship? All of them, the newspapers, the television channels. Except that one owned by the pentecostal bishop...

That's the size of their respect for human life. The charge was published less than 24 hours after the tragedy. It depicts president Dilma - a common target of the newspaper - screaming "holy Mary!", as a pun with the town's name.

Santa Maria's population wants the mayor's head. I understand the feelings. But if we're gonna go after him, why not every single other mayor in Brazil? There's not a city in Brazil where a nightclub fire wouldn't turn into tragedy.

I wonder where DeltaCadmus, the other Brazilian guy, is?

If it makes you feel better (probably wont) the U.S. can't really say much in this regard. The station night club fire that I linked in my original post, though tragic in it's own right, was by no means unprecedented; or even the deadliest in U.S. history. Sure, some additional safeguards have been implemented since then, but the fact remains; old buildings packed to compacity with few exits and indoor pyrotechnics is just not a good idea, even if you are being 'careful.'
