Thread: Marine Zealot or Zergling

    Default Marine Zealot or Zergling

    I'm wondering which of the basic race units do you think was the most inproved from sc1 to sc2, and is by your opinion the most costeffective. And does the list change if you compare fully upgraded ones or just basic?


    Marine:
    Hp: 45
    Cost: 50 minerals
    Armor:/
    damage: 6
    Range: 5
    Speed: fast

    Upgrades:
    Stim Packs - Enables units to use the Stim Pack ability.
    Combat Shield - Increases the Marines health by +15.


    Zealot:

    Hp: 100 + 60 shields
    Cost: 100 minerals
    Armor: 1
    damage: 8x2
    Range:Mele
    Speed: Normal

    Upgrades:
    Charge-Allows all Zealots to use the Charge ability.


    Zergling:
    Hp: 35
    Cost: 25 minerals
    Armor: /
    Damage: 5
    Range:Mele
    Speed: fast

    Upgrades:
    Burrow :Allows the unit to burrow underground, rendering it invisible.
    Adrenal Glands : Increases the attack speed of all Zerglings by 20%.
    Metabolic Boost : Increases the movement speed of all Zerglings.




    For me the best unupgraded most costeffective would be the marine, and the best fully upgraded most cost effective would the Zergling.

    Does the 'Charge' upgrade also give the Leg Enhancements? Or, what's the news on that?

    Yes you are wright zhe charge upgrade gives the zealots the charge ability an an 20% increase in speed.

    No the marines start with 45 hp in sc2
    Not for most of this year. They were nerfed back to 40.

    I vote zealot ... charge is amazing.

    Combat shields are a big boost, but marines get StimPack later, and it's all part of the new medivac support model. I don't think the boost is as big as what the zealots got; it's basically on-part with Brood War medics.

    Zealot, one reason being i like protoss and im bias
    two the charge ability will really help with tanks and other ranged units.
    three the reliance on hp will lessen the dmg vs some units.
