I think that it very closely reflects Duran's description of his origin -
"I am a servant of a far greater power.
A power that has slept for countless ages.
And is reflected in the creature within that cell."
• This Voice is insanely powerfuly. • This creature was trapped in a stasis/slumber. • Since we learned that the Xel'naga are attempting to be reborn with the completion of the Cycle, and the Hybrids are an abomination to that cycle. The "creature within that cell" likely reflects it's goal to stop the Xel'naga's return/rebirth.

Yes it kinda fit with Duran but my point is it's too warcraft. Ever been to nether storm in wow? There's a demon that came out of the void there and it kinda feel like this.

They could be the same. Cross-canon entities, while not common, certainly do exist. I've got one in my stories, some of my friends have them in theirs.
