Oh I see. lol I haven't bothered looking at the back because the last 3 volumes contained Warcraft stuff...

    Will go check now.

Edit: Wow, "high school" Nova has some unrealistically sized knockers. It's really rather annoying having to see big boobs whenever they can fit them in there.

She's about 17-1/2 (since it's the last year of her training).

The "Voice in the Darkness" story, I think, displayed what the enemy of the universe was. I think the SC universe will revolve around this character...This "God"-creature.

That is, unless that was just the Overmind. But I somewhat doubt it is because it hates the Xel'Naga and its creations...So why wouldn't it hate itself?

The Xel'Naga probably imprisoned it because it was a threat to them. Then, it somehow was able to connect to the Overmind and take over the Zerg Swarm. It probably also lured Duran like it did with Morrigan. (Morrigan was referred to in the SCWire Q&A about this manga as being like Duran somewhat) And it may have taken over the minds of the Dark Templar that merged into Ulrezaj. Since it can't beat the Xel'Naga (They may have purity of form AND of essence, thus making them uninfluencable), it is going to try and stop the cycle, so that the Xel'Naga may never rise again to challenge it. By also perverting the cycle, it can take over the minds of the hybrids and use them to destroy any of its opposition. It will turn what would have become the Xel'Naga into its own personal army. Human forms are weak, Zerg are useless as they are simple creatures controlled by a large mind, and the Protoss are not fully perfect. The hybrids would have the best of the Xel'Naga in them, but be fully controllable by this creature.

It might even have to do with Psionics. Terrans are too weak, Zerg have none, Protoss have them, but not DTs, and only creatures with a relation to dark energies could be influenced, not those with relation to light energies like the High Templar. But I'm not sure.

What do you guys think of my theory?

I know that the choice of words isn't...perfect. I typed this pretty quick. :P

Kudos to Arkceangel for the Terran avatar and sig!

Personally, I doubt it. I think it's a "one-off" creature. I'd like to point out, it's been imprisoned for millennia.

Even if it got to Duran a long time ago, it wouldn't have known anything about the xel'naga then. (In effect, it's out of the loop, and couldn't tell him about hybrids.)

That is, unless that was just the Overmind. But I somewhat doubt it is because it hates the Xel'Naga and its creations...So why wouldn't it hate itself?
No way. It is definitely not the Overmind. The timing is all wrong, the personality is all wrong, the abilities are all wrong (except being linked to the Void).

The Xel'Naga probably imprisoned it because it was a threat to them.
They imprisoned it because they cherish life, and it was killing things. They didn't kill it because they cherish life.

It probably also lured Duran like it did with Morrigan. (Morrigan was referred to in the SCWire Q&A about this manga as being like Duran somewhat)
They did say Morrigan was a bit like Duran in the SCW/Blizzplanet interview. However, it's really vague. Also, if Duran was a human at first, he would be dead by now, since they can't possess a human for long.

And it may have taken over the minds of the Dark Templar that merged into Ulrezaj.
How? It hasn't been going around doing things for millennia. Ulrezaj went crazy from the knowledge he learned. Even if that knowledge pertained to the creature, the creature could not directly influence him.

If it could not control the xel'naga (due to their purity of form and essence), then it couldn't possibly control hybrids as well.

It might even have to do with Psionics. Terrans are too weak, Zerg have none, Protoss have them, but not DTs,
What? Dark Templar have psionics too. What do you think is bending the light?

I guess I'm saying this seems like a one-off story, especially since the creature could not influence things. Sure, it hates the xel'naga, but the timing is all wrong for influencing anything. It was out after Dark Origin.

(And how do I know this? Azimar is in Do No Harm, where he still has both of his hands. Do No Harm takes place in 2503. Dark Origin took place at the end of the Brood War, 2501 at the latest.)

The overmind would kick its ass IMO lol.

By the way, did anyone else find it silly that a mind controlled Terran managed to sneak up on a Protoss warrior and kill him?

Yes, and I haven't even read the thing. Sounds like bad writing already. :#

He was possessed by the Heart of the Void, so he could cloak (the entity said it could "hide" its worshippers) and, oh yeah, he had mondo power from being possessed by a god-like entity.

    That was badass and frightening.

Not to mention being a God of the Void, it can also use the Dark Templar's own abilities to find where they are, since they're using the same energy and it treats the DT like little children, it's really no surprise that it could manipulate a puppeted Terran body and attack them without any warning.

So so but I have a warcraft feeling about this story. I mean it's too supernatural, magical to fit well in Starcraft. I just hope they don't use it in Starcraft 2.

    I entirely disagree.

I think that it very closely reflects Duran's description of his origin -

"I am a servant of a far greater power.
A power that has slept for countless ages.
And is reflected in the creature within that cell."

    This Voice is insanely powerfuly.
This creature was trapped in a stasis/slumber.
Since we learned that the Xel'naga are attempting to be reborn with the completion of the Cycle, and the Hybrids are an abomination to that cycle. The "creature within that cell" likely reflects it's goal to stop the Xel'naga's return/rebirth.
