See how far have you gone, Pr0? You're worse than Gradius. And I didn't think it was even possible!

Seriously though, I don't know a single person who disliked the SP gameplay except Pr0nogo. Of course, many people gave up playing it in the first missions.

But if you don't like WoL SP gameplay, you either don't like RTS campaigns, or you like them much more than I do and have a much more refined taste. I don't have that much experience with other RTS to compare.

I can't remember the last time I said I disliked the gameplay, but I have pointed out that much of it is gimmicky and the difficulty is lacking and cheap. The mechanics themselves and certain missions shaped out to be entertaining and fun. I like some of the gameplay, and I dislike other parts. If I had to make blanket statements, I would say that I liked more than I disliked - which, I understand, is different than what I have said previously. Take it as a change of opinion if you care that much about it.

I believe much of what I said about the gameplay was a direct result of how I felt about the story dragging the entire experience down. The really poor and shoddy storytelling, graphics, and performance rating definitely made me infinitely more frustrated at the slightest contrivance or gimmick, so I did present the gameplay in an incorrect light.

    I was wrong.

I disliked how they made the Protoss so skinny in the original. I like how they've tanked them up in SC2

That face indicates irony, I think.

Still I don't get why the Protoss were so god damn skinny in the original.

They looked like anorexic warriors. Why did Blizzard make them like that?

Well, they were originally supposed to be 10 ft. tall too. :P

Lessara is still pretty skinny though.

Protoss are essentially plant people (whereas with humans, being skinny indicates physical weakness, the difference in metabolizing allows protoss to deviate from anything human-like), and being alien gave blizzard liberty to deviate from the usual 'muscley hero' model that they purport 99% of the time these days. The skinnier 8-10ft. tall protoss is therefor more realistic, imo.

Also, having two thumbs gives them a stronger grip, according to this video (unrelated to starcraft, but still).

Because apparent fragility coupled with speed and power means grace. There's nothing special about a powerfully fighting muscle bound warrior, but when the same is achieved by someone who doesn't look capable of doing it it becomes ethereal and beautiful.

^ That and the Protoss are supposed to be a proxy for Elves (oh yeah, I did go there!).
Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.
