Since we're on this Protoss theme, has anyone answered where the actual Protoss manufacturing sites are located? All their constructions are pre-fabricated and warped on location but where are they made? The original conceit was that they were made somewhere on Aiur but that can't be true anymore. Why do the Nerazim employ a similar method? They don't seem to be the types to have massive industrial complexes like the Protoss on Aiur would have.

So... why wasn't Brood War's character development referenced at all? Fenix is never mentioned, Raszagal is never mentioned. Seriously, how do Raynor and Zeratul confront Kerrigan without mentioning those two? Not even a throwaway line! ("You swore to kill her after what happened to Fenix." "Times have changed, Matt." That would have done it.)

I don't think those two need to be specifically mentioned to reference BW character development since the impact of those things can be shown in other ways. That said, the issue is rather about the abruptness of change/lack of continuity in Raynor's characterisation when we compare him from BW to WoL. It feels like something important happened in the meantime to bring about this change but there is no more light shed on the matter.

Perhaps the Nerazim don't really do so. I get the impression the void rays are all commanded by the Boros clan, and they're sitting out in space not necessarily even near Shakuras. Their ships might all be old vessels for living in that happen to have badass weapons, and the Boros might be reluctant to risk vessels in combat for that very reason. (Or, more intelligently, those ships escort their home vessels.) But that's a guess, and maybe Blizzard figures that'll be addressed in Legacy of the Void.

But as for the protoss from Aiur, they'd still do what they usually do, only they use a new planet. Not all might use Shakuras. Nahaan (leader of the Ara Tribe) doesn't even live on Shakuras, and stayed away for years until The Dark Templar Saga.

It's a pretty glaring weakspot for the Protoss one would think, luckily they must be really good at hiding these massive factories because we never seee or hear of them.

Nerazim have to have factories. The lore just straight wouldn't make sense if dark templar didn't know how to build stuff. :P

Zeratul said that. He said that the dark voice was a 'fallen one', meaning that he clearly was exiled by the xel naga. Or are they just going to have him tag on that name for no reason... whatever.

Zeratul said that. He said that the dark voice was a 'fallen one', meaning that he clearly was exiled by the xel naga. Or are they just going to have him tag on that name for no reason... whatever.

So what does that mean? The Dark Voice is a xel'naga (possibly), not the xel'naga. We know what the DV's goals are, not the xel'naga's as a whole (the "save or destroy" question).

Um, common language usage? If a single human enslaves an alien, my thoughts don't automatically state "humanity has enslaved this alien."
