Thread: A theory about the Ghost at Bhekar Rho

Default A theory about the Ghost at Bhekar Rho

To me, Shadow of the Xel'naga was the worst Starcraft book. It was a dramatized excerpt of a PvTvZ game basically, with extra characters and plot points thrown in for fun. I've read Starcraft fanfiction better than this (Endless Infinity for example, and one story that was a awesome Zerg Swarm vs Borg Collective one actually done very well) and those weren't even finished.

So, we have a reaction from other Starcraft writers on how they thought about the people of Bhekar Rho.

Well, they have a female Ghost kill them all.

However, I have a theory on that Ghost.

This woman here has a great deal of natural potential. She might make a good Ghost herself
Who better to slaughter them than Octavia turned Ghost?

The irony must make it canon.

Could any of the higher ups ask Metzen about this if they get a chance at a lore panel or such?

Heh. You know, I think Blizzard knows how poorly SotXN is seen. When I first saw the massacre in the comic, I couldn't help but wonder if it was a self-jab-a way of getting rid of the people of a story so despised.

I like your Octavia=ghost idea, but the timeframe is iffy. Ghosts require quite a bit of training (four years average as I recall, three if they're good). SotXN occurs in 2500, the comic in 2502. There isn't enough time for her to become a Ghost.

I couldn't help but laugh hysterically when I saw it.

This is the only time I would enjoy a retcon.

This needs a new book, because a retcon is not enough.

Would you be fine with Ghost!Octavia in a book?

Sooo, there was a comic based on this book?
    Aaand sold.

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

No. Basically there was a ghost going after the War Pigs. So, in order to show the success of this particular Ghost, it pans to Bhekar Rho with her amongst the mountain of corpses.

The Octavia thing is just speculation.

EDIT: Let me rephrase. It's more complicated than just that. The War Pigs got in the way, they weren't the target.

    Hidden Content:
If she is this ghost, she is death ^^.

I'm fine with Octavia being a ghost, but the whole Bhekar Rho event must be rewritten through gameplay or some printable resource.

    Ah, that would be nice.

Though, if it was a gameplay mission, how many of us fans would keep playing it over and over again.

Okay, so the implication is that the Ghost cleaned up Bhekar Ro by killing everyone in the book?
