Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

Blizzard is in a class all their own. With the exception of TF2, VALVe announces a game roughly one year before a game is released, which is then usually delayed by a month or two. Minor updates are given a release date a week or two in advance, and are usually delayes anywhere between a few hours to a day.
Blizzard on the other hand announces a game 3 years before it's ready, during which it misses at least two of its deadlines. Minor updates and patches are sometimes delayed months until they're actually ready.
The company is astounding at making games but the worst I've ever seen at timelines and estimating. It's like they're throwing darts at a calendar.

Darts at a Mayan calendar, at that! "Hmm, calendar resets in 2012? Let's make sure and delay SC2 past then so we can claim a rift in the space-time continuum and keep milking WoW forever!"
....or is that a little too cynical? I dunno, I'm just getting annoyed again. The absolute best thing Blizz can do right now to help SC2 development would be to get the beta out so all the imbalances can be found. Considering how long it takes Blizz to fix those imbalances, a beta now would be just enough time for their 1st Half 2010 release.

It takes weeks to properly translate "terrible terrible damage".
I am still in a state of disbelief that we are almost to October 2009 and we are still waiting for Battle Reports.
Start the damn beta and the beta testers will be streaming and YouTubing so many damn videos that we can't watch them all.
Damn Battle.Net... Stupid "localization" process... and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 sucked, I thought that would hold my attention for a week... it didn't.
/rant over
Sorry.
