Hey guys!

I recently made a blog where I'm in the process of uploading all of my music. The idea is to get some viewers, some word of mouth and maybe, someday, get to compose music for games or films. Independent ones most likely, since I don't have the studio equipment for the best quality recordings.

Anyway, take a look if you want, I'd love some feedback!

Hey! Pretty decent stuff you got there. Reminds me of Nox Arcana a bit (the melancholic piano songs).

Btw, I don't know if it's an European thing but there's basically never any underground metal band like yours around Canada. It's always freaking boring cannibal corpse wannabe's with ugly blast beats everywhere and deathcore garbage. I can't jam with anyone who shares my musical taste.

And no, unfortunately, it's not a European thing. All the other bands around are also pretty much at least thrash-level heavy. I actually play in a thrash/death metal band, too, though we try to mix it up with melodies and some really weird-sounding passages. We have blast beats, but not a whole lot. But trust me, man, I know how you feel. It took me YEARS to finally get a band together to play the stuff I want to play and not death metal.

But Bloodlines, the band who's song I uploaded to the blog, is my baby. I make all the music, including the drums. The drummer does his own fills most of the time, but the rhythms are mine. I actually just updated the blog with two more songs of ours, so check them out if you have the time!

Also, here's some samples for those that don't feel like opening the blog. Though I'd really appreciate the hits.

Your band is really awesome! I guess you were inspired a lot by Opeth but the music still has a distinctive feel to it.

The unfortunate thing is that me and you are pretty much the only metalhead left on this forum that would enjoy the music I guess. Not that there was a lot more before. I don't know if zabimaru still lurk around but the 3 of us were pretty much it.

Opeth and Katatonia are probably the biggest influences in the music I make for Bloodlines. Last year they played at a festival in Bulgaria and I've never really looked at concerts the same way. I hated Katatonia's set, since I hated their last two albums, but Opeth were absolutely flawless - the perfect live band.

Still, I'm kinda trying not to make the blog about metal, because that's not my goal. I really, really want to find work as a soundtrack composer. Especially for RPGs - that would be my dream job. And unfortunately, being tagged as 'metal' is considered a bad thing by most, for some strange reason.

And about the band - I can't promise you a physical copy, but as soon as the debut album's done, I'll give you a free digital copy.

Making video game music is my dream job, so I really, really hope I can get somewhere with that. The real problem is actually getting my music noticed. I hate spamming up forums, but it seems to be the only way to get some initial buzz. Not that I've had much luck with that, either. But to be fair, it's only been two weeks.

Trust me, I hope you hear my music in other places, too.

I completed my first commissioned song a little while ago. It's an intro for an internet movie/anime review show called Movies in Bed.

The commission was for a lighthearted, short, simple acoustic song. This is my first time ever doing anything even vaguely related to that description, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. I'd really appreciate some feedback from you guys.

Pretty good man. Im a musican myself, Consider it my #1 love with SC2 being #2 lol.. And Steven Wilson is my idol. You probably already know of him; since he produced some Opeth stuff, but if not.. Porcupine Tree, Blackfield, No-Man, three of some of his best bands. Definitely need checking out!

Keep up the good work. Someday soon, I plan on getting into SC2 commentating and giving up high-masters replays in an effort to eventually get some of my "fans" to listen to my music, possibly buy a CD when I put one out. That, to me, would be the dream scenario of mixing my love of SC and Music.
