Thread: Razer will produce SC2 keyboards, mice and headsets

If they made a SC2 trackball I'd buy it. Still don't understand why so many gamers swear by mice...a thumb-based trackball gives better response times and accuracy over a mouse, requiring far less motion and stress on the arms.

I do know it's hard to get used to them, though, which probably counts for why they aren't so popular. Oh well. I guess I'll have to stick with my logitech.

Got some news on this topic probably.

Since Gamescom 2009 I got some contacts at the razer company.

Probably at the end of this month or early next month the Razer Sc2 gear stock will come in. (US, not sure for EU) And soon more informations will be released and products will be avialable on the market

I'm not quite sure if I need the SC2 razer Mouse, I've been using the DiamondBack 3g Indigo blue mouse and it sits very nicely with my G11 and Samsung Monitor... all 3 have a light blue tint.

Somehow I doubt the SC2 branded mouse will help me perform over any other RTS geared gaming mouse... although I must say it will look cool.

If I weren't a poor mofo, I'd buy everything related to StarCraft.

I've used a trackball once or twice and I don't like it very much. I'm a lot faster with a mouse. I think I don't like trackballs because I'm not used to them. And the reason why I don't use a trackball has to do with being familiar with mice.

But on topic, as much as I like Starcraft, I don't care so much for Starcraft keyboards, mice etc. I'll already have my own when I get my computer so why get another?

Same here. I am okay using one for standard computer use, (internet browsing, Excel) but for SC? - Forget it. I feel like you dont have the leverage for fast clicking, grouping, etc. - In many ways, it's worse than using a laptop touchpad.

However, have not considered ever getting a, 'game specific' keyboard before. Is there really an added advantage, or did someone just figure out a new way to take your money?

Can anyone suggest a good keyboard/mouse setup that they believe has improved their game?

Oh, Gods. The laptop touchpad. I have never liked using them. For anything. If I ever got a laptop, I'd make sure to get a mouse for it.

Well, from what I've seen it might be a bit of both. They're usually specially designed so that you have easy access to certain keys. Some even have it completely rearranged. Like this one.

HA! - the only thing worse was the 'accu-point' - that little eraser looking thing between the G and H? - couldn't imagine playing SC with that...unless i was really looking for a challenge!

Oh, okay - so these keyboards dont really add funtions or features not normally available in the game? - I was kind of thinking about a mouse feature that would allow you use the mouse wheel to quickly cycle through your hotkey presets. I thought something like this might be useful (for SC1 anyway) where you may be hotkeying multiple groups of 12 units - It would be easier to just cycle back and forth with the wheel and issuing keyboard commands.

Yeah. I actually played StarCraft with a laptop without a mouse once and it was, without a doubt, the most fustrating thing I've ever done.

I don't know if they do anything like that but that's because I've never really seen one beyond pictures and I've never used one. So, there's not much I can say about that.
