Queens probably have something to do with the communication as well. When an Overlord dies, it possibly could send the orders that overlord was giving to a nearby one, therefore killing Overlords a moot point.
Where's your basis for the assumption that Queens have to do with communication as well? These are entirely new Queens mind you, and from what I can tell, their main priority is to tend to the bases and defend them. They can't even move off the creep without becoming super slow.

Second of all, killing overlords isn't a moot point, why do you think they exist? The Overmind doesn't exist anymore, cerebrates don't exist anymore. Using them as an argument for why killing overlords won't work is a moot point in itself.

I keep forgeting that we are talking about Starcraft II zerg, than Zerg in General. Im mostly just talking about Starcraft I Zerg. My Apologies.

Well it was assumed that Kerrigan took the role of Overmind, and since no integral physiology of the Zerg was apparently changed, (especially with the psionic link of communication) then it's perfectly feasible that's still the same hierarchy. They obviously never pursued it for whatever reasons.

I'm pretty sure cerebrates still exist, you played as one serving kerrigan in brood war. I'm pretty sure kerrigan can't control the whole swarm on her own

Blizzard confirmed that all Cerebrates died off eventually, as they needed the Overmind to survive.

Kerrigan replaced the Cerebrates with the Queens for territory control, and I presume that Overlords retained the same role: Local control.

So my idea still has some merit?

I think in Lore we don't get to see minions going berzerk after killing ovies since the swarm has more ovies than minions. ( I mean more control slots available than minions)

Let's say a brood can carry 5 million minions total and each ovie can control 50,000 minions. And currently there are only 1 million minions for that brood.

This means once an ovie dies, the link from controller to minion is transferred to another ovie. It's like electicity or something.

But Cerebrates when killed causes feedback, and that is maybe because of the effect of WARP Blades and not the death of cerebrates themselves. The energies of the Dark Templar kinda puts a strain on the overmind that it cannot respawn the cerebrate and so the overmind's control of that specific brood's minions is kinda cut off.

The events of SC Vanilla was so fast that it ended with the minions losing their Overmind even before the overmind can respawn the cerebrates. It was a tactical move, and the only move the protoss can do to at least disrupt their inevitable defeat vs a swarm under the control of the overmind... thing.
