It really won't matter much. Seriously, transporting a Thor will never be for stealth purposes.Heck, I would rather have a loading and unloading delay than an advertisement of what I'm bringin' to battle.
Take a look at the scenarios.
A) Why would you try to drop a Thor in the back of someone's base? They can't harass workers for crap because 1. Their ability is to bombard ONE target for massive damage, hardly beneficial to use it on a probe (maybe on their Nexus?) 2. Their attack is slow and does massive damage, hardly beneficial to use him for harassment instead of reapers or marines. Not only that, he won't do much damage to well... anything unless there's at least 3 of them, then maybe they'll manage to destroy a building but I hardly reckon the cost is worth the trade.
B) You transport the Thor into the Fray... it's faster than walking and using any methods of stealth is pointless because you're bringing him to direct battle.
C) You mass attack someone's base with Thors, whether you have 5 dropships showing 5 Thors or 5 dropships period, the enemy is going to be on panic mode and send a large bulk of his army ASAP to counter the drop.

You can't fake a mass Thor drop, though. They'll send their army if they see the DropShips (since they can't see everything), but they will be able to know that you're not dropping Thors. You mass attack someone's base with Thors, whether you have 5 dropships showing 5 Thors or 5 dropships period, the enemy is going to be on panic mode and send a large bulk of his army ASAP to counter the drop.

Yes, but that's not the point of my post anyway. 5 dropships is a good enough reason for panic in ANY situation unless you know they're all empty, so whether Thors are visibly shown while being transported doesn't make much a difference to the gameplay. You can't fake a mass Thor drop, though. They'll send their army if they see the DropShips (since they can't see everything), but they will be able to know that you're not dropping Thors.
Well actually I do think Thor dropping to eliminate important buildings could be a pretty viable strategy. But I don't know how viable seeing as I've never played the game. While it's more difficult to get that ability to land on the workers of a skilled player, it's rather difficult to get the Nexus/Hatch/CC out of the way. Even if the CC lifts, Thor specializes in GtA no?

I'd like to see an animation for Overlords picking up their cargo with their long appendages and scooping them into the folds of flesh. Perhaps Ultralisks could be carried in the massive forearms?
Aaand sold.
Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow
Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?
The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

I like the tentacle idea, but for the Colossus I figure you can just convert him into energy, since the Protoss seem to have mastered that warping ability through spacetime. My only qualm is that we're homogenizing the races now, and while it may be cool to have a unique one for these behemoth class units, I figure there's other outlets for creativity.

Why are people talking about Thor's getting carried when clearly a dropship from SC1 could not carry 2 Tanks or 4 Goliaths.. I think it should just work like normal, and massive units should take up 8 spots. (1 marine = 1 spot)
As in you can't see the unit being carried, that's just silly.
Sonic: [dressed as a cop] Let me speak to the driver.
Grounder: I'm not driving. He is!
Scratch: No I'm not.
Sonic: Driving without a driver? Now you're really in for it.
Sonic: You know? I sure have fun.
