But seriously, I like the all or nothing aspect of its gameplay balance. By transporting those units and bypassing their defenses, you run the risk of losing them all if you have not scouted their base enough or not made it stealthy enough. Air raids would be far too simplistic if a transport unit that gets shot down is allowed to drop all its units into the base as a consolation prize.
    agreed
Sonic: [dressed as a cop] Let me speak to the driver.
Grounder: I'm not driving. He is!
    Scratch: No I'm not.
Sonic: Driving without a driver? Now you're really in for it.

Sonic: You know? I sure have fun.

A quick google search will answer that.

I don't think that's accurate and has been contradicted by Karune. Here, he states one Thor takes up an entire Medivac.

That was 4 months ago, by the way. This folding up is a fairly recent thing.

With all the changes SCII has had I feel like getting lost,
I don't know medivacs but Dropship used to have an unloading animation (as much as I remember...) and I wonder what else is going on with this new animation.... if you can see what each medivac is carrying you will definitely shoot the one with the thor instead of triying to randomly kill the first one you saw in the group, which (luckily) could be carrying only some marines and not a thor... what do you say guys?

I would personally have it so you CAN'T see what the transporting units and carrying.

It doesn't make sense for the Thor's carrying animation if it only takes 1 slot in a dropship.

    1 Thor udnerneath a medivac =/= 8 Thors inside.

    Likewise.

Heck, I would rather have a loading and unloading delay than an advertisement of what I'm bringin' to battle.

It makes sense if you think of it in terms of weight capacity, rather than storage capacity. The ship might not be able to physically carry anything else once burdened by the heavy weight of a Thor underneath.
