Thread: How to be a true starcraft fan

Default How to be a true starcraft fan

If Thoust seeketh to be a true fan one must only follow these rules

1.) assume that because a lot of random guys on the internet are attacking the story than that must be the majority and that everyone hated it, even though there are many reviews that either don't mention the story or praise it. Those who state defense must be fanboys, even if they provide evidence you must shun them.

2.) assume that everything must be explained and addressed in the first installment rather than later in the plot; those who argue otherwise must obviously be trolls.

3.) assume that Raynor must have taken his vow seriously; those who say that it could just as easily have been in the heat of anger is obviously a liar and an imbecile.

4.) state that the Dark Voice was entirely obtrusive; if thy foes point out that it actually cleared up a lot of the confusing stuff from the first one they are heathens.

5.) Complain that Kerrigan is less competent in brood war. If they state that They act as if Kerrigan is a wuss even though she kills billions in her invasion, almost smashes the terrans in the final battle, and gives lines that are simpley blunt rather than witty, even though blunt terror suits the evil overlord, and state that Kerrigan actually improved since her success in brood war was due to others stupidities and that in WOL she did damage without that, than thou must tar and feather them for their blasphemy.

Follow these rules and follow them well.

Woah, let's not judge or show disrespect to others. This is not the chaos that is the Battle.Net forums. People here are significantly less judgmental and disrespectful.

    Also, clone topic?

Kudos to Arkceangel for the Terran avatar and sig!

Not a true Starcraft fan then I take it.
Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

"You can tell that I'm it's biggest fan, because I hate it more than anybody else!"

I felt that it kind of needed to be said. A lot of the people who dislike SC2 have a "you must be an idiot if you dare defend WOL or criticize brood war." Gradius can be like that at times (I've seen him outright lie on battle net.) I'd love it to be uploaded on battle net if only to see the trolls vomit with rage.

I would like to take this moment to remember the great fans of this forum. Please stand to honor the dead. *trumpet blares* Spychi, dustinbrowder, SlickR. *trumpet blares*

That being said, if I cared enough to rehash the same thing over and over, I'd probably be a true fan too.

I used to be a fan, but then I took a Zerg claw to the knee.

So what if the story sucked. SC2 is still a superior product with a crappy storyline component. People really need to just learn to deal with this fact.

May Adun have mercy on their souls. :P

But seriously, you should check out the trolls on the b.net story forum. They'll give those guys a run for their money.

If you're going to come in here & post libel about me for no reason, might as well mention what it is I lied about.

There are several intelligent people who like WoL and whose opinions I respect. The trolls on b.net are not among them. Those guys are impervious to logic & facts - you can't even get them to admit basic facts from unit descriptions, like that high templar use the khala and that dark templar use the void. These are mostly the kinds of people left that are still sticking up for the campaign after all this time, and they deserve to be mocked & insulted. I love the quote from Tychus's sig because it's so damn true.

to be honest the accusation of lying was overly harsh in hindsight. I kind of regretted it even before you posted, just that university kept me busy. I still feel that some people are willing to be more forgiving of weaknesses in SC1 while pillioring SC1 without mercy and at least some (that guy at over thinking) arrogantly believe that everyone must hate it. I'm sorry I was overly harsh, but it is kind of annoying, and some people who hate WOL's campaign can also be pretty harsh and dishonest. They seem to think that if you like the campaign you must be some stupid or horrible imbecile (There are some people who act is anyone defends the Dresden files is sexist even though the alleged sexism isn't actually supported by the text if you actually look at it fully and in context rather than just blankly reading over.) I like the WOL campaign, and while I respect that there are others who don't that doesn't give them the right to say "you are a fucking retard for liking that." Those were the guys I was trying to attack, those who arrogantly assume that everyone who loves the WOL campaign must be some evil horrible and disgusting person with no taste.
