Thread: TeamLiquid.net Article: Zerg & Larva Injection

Yeah I read that article when it was published. It's a pretty good write up, and I really love the fact that some viable strategies are starting to emerge from SC2 events. The hydra bust seems to be the first "imba" build ever, unless we count the marine/marauder rush a few events back, but that was barely imbalaced according to the feedback we received...
Based on this article, it definitely looks like Inject Larvae needs some balance, but I think lots of things are still going to change with the zerg race...

Btw, Sahara, not to derail, but is there any point to writing your posts in orange besides having them be more noticeable by flashing our eyes? : )

Blizz is just going to tweak the number of larvae spawned, or the incubation time of the larvae and then zerg will be right back to being on the bottom. Unbeatable Zergling rushes aren't something you will have to worry about in release as they will be gone far before then.

As it stands now, zerg seems to play almost exactly the same as in BW except for the larvae. Banelings were nerfed heavily and will likely only be useful vs marines. Roaches are just pointless now; since they only regen while burrowed and everyone has detection by tier 2.5 or so, they are just zealots (~160hp, 100 mins) that do less damage.

It's all good though. sandwich_tard didn't mention anything in his thread title.

I'm disappointed by what I've been reading about High Templar. Sounds like storm has really been nerfed. Smaller radius, reduced damage, and incantation time to boot? -_-

I find this article and the implications very appealing. For the longest time I've feared that SCII will just be BroodWar with a couple new units and fancier graphics. To me, this hints that the races will be even more disparate in mechanics, micro and macro, yet still balanced. (The rest of you guys likely know this already, but I've not had the chance to play it, like a lot of you. Moreover, I don't pay a great deal of attention to mechanics and units and the like, considering how everything is so prone to change.) The info regarding viability of hit-and-run tactics excites me.

Could we merge these two threads? It's duplication of effort.
