They absorb a yeti who lives there apparently.

Honestly, if you can survive space which has a temperature close to 0k in the vast majority of its volume, the temperature of this planet shouldn't be a problem whatever it might be.
The thing with space is, in the absence of a convective medium like air, the only way to lose heat is through either conductivity (direct contact) or radiation. Radiation is generally much slower in terms of heat transfer, so space, while having a "temperature" of much lower than an ice planet, is actually not as "cold," at least in the sense of freezing up instantly.

    If I was to add my analysis of Raynor based on this trailer and the teaser;
Raynor's role in HOTS is to say "Sarah!!!" in multiple distressed ways.

i don't read much into the kerrigan injection speculation.

to me it just seems like the machines are putting on kerrigans ghost suit for her just like they put on tychus's marine suit for him. she was naked you know.

from what i guess this takes place right after raynor recovers kerrigan. raynor's got half the dominion fleet around him so i think he's gonna make a run for it with her. these screens could be playing out a epic battle scene as they slowly overcome him to get her as he runs, and by the time they do get to her she's already up and about. mengsk son may command the fleet and be raynors ally at the moment, but i think mengsk will just overide his son and tell them to "get her!" since tychus failed him.

i like the homeworld space screenshot. i see predators, i see a listening outpost you saw wraiths blow up in the sc vanilla cutscene, and i can't tell for sure but at the bottom of the listening outpost is a wraith and possibly a valkyrie under it. hard to tell but it's not another wraith or a predator.

I have to take a second to rant... because I'm really pissed off!!! I got the chance to play through the beta of Diablo 3 (not pissed about that tho) and I have to say... the storytelling is perfect. The tone is great, it fits the world and is extremely immerse.

As a starcraft fan I feel like we really got the short end of the stick. I can remember several times throughout starcraft 2 that I stopped and sighed and wondered why blizzard wrote such cheesy/lame lines or destroyed a lot of character development for seemingly no reason at all. Not to mention it feels like all of WOL was a side story to the main plot that we got a hint of in the protoss missions. Everything in single player for SC2 seems so hacked together I just can't stand it. I loved the dark templar trilogy... why couldn't they have just gotten her to write the dam single player story.

I just can't believe how much of a polished gem D3 is (storywise) compared to SC2. And that is just the beta. Which contains little more than an hour of game play. I feel like I want to listen to every little lore thing I can find and talk to every person in every village. Where I found myself caring little to not at all about talking with people on the hyperion. It looks like this sloppy storytelling is going to continue!!! Watching the trailer for HotS just makes me sick. It wasn't good enough to retcon the personalities of the main characters from starcraft 1... they have to do it again by giving kerrigan memory loss?

On the one side. D3 gives me hope for blizzard. On the other hand... it's sorta lame that blizzard has been hiding all the best writers on the D3 team. lol /end rant.

Why does everyone dislike that line? I don't get it.
    SC2 handle - "DrakeyC, code 929"

I ARE A PROPHET! I've predicted three major aspects of SC2 correct, more or less.

June 2007 - I predicted the Protoss campaign would give you new tech as you conducted diplomacy among tribes.

    Hidden Content:
July 18th 2010 - I predicted Raynor would broadcast information of Mengsk's actions on Tarsonis to discredit him and incite rebellion.

    Hidden Content:
June 16th 2010 I predicted the Voice in the Darkness was the commanding force behind the Hybrids. I'm calling it half-right.

In fairness, the first episode of StarCraft vanilla wasn't totally connected to the overarching plot of that game, either. It was basically a bunch of terran on terran violence.

But I agree, Zealot. Diablo's universe is becoming something grande and beautiful. Have you seen the excerpts from Cain's journal? You'll find the first six pages or so in this thread here. It's impressive.

    - Everything about it reminds me of the peasants in warcraft 3s campaign...

it just doesn't make much sense anyway. Did that guy go searching for the people who vanished? If he did search for them then wouldn't he have "Disappeared" too? How does he know they aren't still in the mines.

"after they're taken to the mines we don't see or hear from them" would have even fit better if they didn't want to go the mature route and suggest they had died down in the mines. Which is way cooler :P after all, why would they need a new batch of miners every week. Right?

I'm not 100% sure I agree with you about sc1
In retrospect I find the terran campaign of the first game to be more of a setup. An introduction for things to come, and as such it works perfectly. We are introduced to space through the eyes of humans that we relate with the most and shown the zerg for the first time and the impending doom that the represent. The terran on terran violence is essential to the main plot because without it Jim never would have run away and met up with the protoss and kerrigan would have never become the queen of blades. It is very connected because most of what happens in the terran campaign in vanilla sc is the cause for everything else that happens.

It feels much more like they are trying to force the story to fit their gameplay ideas. Meeting in the middle probably would have worked out better. I didn't see one gameplay mechanic for any mission in WOL that required the story to play out in that exact way.

awesome post thank you. Do you think mengsk has a tie in with the dark voice considering he is fucking everything up?

Why would Raynor and Kerrigan destroy the Dominion home planet if they have to save the galaxy from a bigger threat? Seems like some type of tie in, we know there were dominion labs fucking with Hybrids, could they be creating them as a tool of the dark voice?

Mengsk and kerrigan nad raynor did team up before even under strange circumstances
