I dunno if it'd have to be in the robo bay, but theoretically they could replace the Observer with the Oracle instead of replacing the Mothership.
I'd be for that, I think.
Granted, if they did that, Stargate tech would get A LOT more popular.

They said the whole point of the Oracle is NOT to be in the main army. They want to make units that are necessary, but require the player NOT to put them in their main army, like the Shredders, to avoid large balls of mixed units, which are oftenly seen in WoL competitive play. The Observer also isn't seen very often in main armies.
Kudos to Arkceangel for the Terran avatar and sig!

I'm saying Blizzard's design goals are wrong in this regard. All units should be viable in and out of the main army, to increase strategy. Whether its an Observer scouting off by itself compared to with the main army to detect for it, or a Warp Prism delivering harrassing DT's in a mineral line compared to riding with the main army to protect HT's from EMP and warp-in reinforcements for the push. Observers are seen very often in main armies because they can detect. The difference is you only see 2 in the army instead of 20, but that doesn't make them less useful in a main army situation. By combining two units you free up room for another new unit if needed, or you increase the utility of the unit and don't oversaturate the unit lineups which create useless units. Both are preferable goals.

So the replicant is 1:1? not dependent on the unit its copying?

The replicant I see would only be useful of copying mid/high tech units; right now I'm trying to think of how terran/ zerg casters would compliment a toss army well...
as for the oracle, it would make dt strikes more devestating- disable detection buildings (comsat station, turrets, spore colony) and then there isnt any go to detection

Posted in first thread, will post it here too. The article of the guy that played Z and P against some opponents in Blizzcon. Some interesting stuff, and I like what he says about Swarm Host. http://www.gosugamers.net/starcraft2/blogs/3427

from blizzcon - they add unified shaders, ragdoll system and improve creep to "consume" enemy buildings... very nice news for all starcraft players
