Thread: Iceworld Terrain

    Default Iceworld Terrain

Is it me, or have we only seen one screenshot featuring Iceworld? Just that old Zerg screenshot that predates BWWI 08. Do you think there is any reason Blizzard aren't releasing more screenshots of maps in this terrain?

Probably saving it for the game.

I'm pretty sure that they have a number of tilesets/worlds that they haven't showed us yet and won't show us til the game comes out.

    Just relax.

I think they said somewhere that they always added snow tiles in the expansions and that an expansion isn't an expansion without snow tiles --> Maybe not in WotL. Can't find the source now but if I find the link I'll post.

Seriously, though, I'm pretty sure the devs are just interested in exhibitioning their hard work on the Jungle Tileset's varied plantlife at the moment. All things considered, the frozen tileset tends to be rather plain; despite being a fan-favorite, its hardly the ideal environment to show off what SC2's terrain rendering engine can do ('put your best foot forward', as it were...).

That picture is a year and a half old... of course it looks bland.

Didn't they mention trying to have different building skins or something on snow tilesets at some point a long while back? Essentially making it so that the structures would get/have snow on them? It many be that this is a WIP that they want to reveal later on, since it's something that'll make it look very unique compared to any of the other tilesets.

That was a joke. They don't purposely hold out the snow tilesets just so they will be in the expansion.

Samwise said that they would like to add some snow and stuff to buildings in the snow tileset if they have time.

That'd be sweet if they did make snow covered buildings. What all tilesets have been announced/seen?

I see a grand opportunity for intricate ice-crystal formations.
