He's got an illegal UV tanning bed. Apparently it's good for building Protoss muscle.

Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

Eh, again, as I said, I'll take any Protoss they give me. I came to terms with the revision of art style long ago. Now my job is to be evenhanded. So, this is the version of Artanis I will put in the chart. :P

    @Turalyon, haha
    Gradius, thank you.

@DefilerRulez and Nolanstar— the Roach and Void ray are not priorities for new drawings. They might happen some day. Yeah, they don't match up to the Mr. Jack artwork that's come out since HotS— because I drew them before Mr. Jack had even been hired by Blizzard! Back then, this roach style was just fan art, as far as I was concerned, and I was actually trying to keep my Zerg designs as far away from Mr. Jack's influence as I could.
Even for designs I loved, like his defiler, it was fan art, and I didn't want to be copying anyone else's style. And then they hired him, haha.

So, yes, there are drawings that are not completely in line with the official looks for those units, but I mainly want to focus on re-drawing and fixing up the ones that look really badly drawn, like the Mothership, or the blurry edges of the SC2 ultralisk that got scaled up so big. My priority has to be adding new units over revising the old. Because there are a ton more to go. Right now I have on my to-do list:

    Pirate capital ship
    APC
    ARES/Security bot
    Missile turret
    Civilian
    Terran Shuttle
    HotS Prison Ship
    Terran Drop Pod
    Terran Mobile Artillery
    Odin
    More terran capital ships
    Raynor
    Soul Hunter/Purifier
    Tassadar
    The Void Seeker
    Artanis (after LotV)
    Zeratul
    Preserver
Maybe Raszagal or Selendis, if she shows up more in LotV
    Stone Zealot
    A few more carrier designs
    Swarm Queen
    Feederling (super larva)
Maybe Abathur, Dehaka, Zagara, Zerg heroes
The Overmind (yes, you heard it here) (It'll only be on the capital ships chart so it won't be such a ridiculous drawing. I haven't gone back and rewatched the ending cinematic with the Gantrithor in a while, but I feel like it's only 1 or 2 kilometers wide.)
    A Hive
    Infested civilian
    Spine Crawler
    Spore Crawler
    HotS scourge nest scourge design
    Cerebrate
    Sac (the zerg drop pod)
    Maybe some more hydralisk designs
    Maybe some hybrids
...and more that I forgot to type just now.

And this is even before all the new units LotV adds! So like, a new Roach is pretty low on that list.

Also, I know you want the corruptor to be bigger, you don't need to keep asking, I won't forget. I know you want the laser tank and the hercules and hurricane battlecruisers in there, don't worry.

Why so much hatred about new Artanis? I like sc2 style of protoss, they doesn't more looks like humans without mouth and nose... He is now heavy muscular?? What's the problem? He is the leader, is Logic that it can smash Zerglings heads with fists, we are using a Game from 2010 years, no more from 90's, and i don't think we can call the new Artanis a retcon, he is an update, if we had a Bw Artanis on LotV it would be the most out of place thing ever

I think he looked a lot more distinctive in Brood War. He had clearly alien proportions and there was this air of inhumanity about him that was very interesting.

Now a days, he just seems too...bah, I don't know the word. It looks less like the Protoss have separate races and skin tones like they used to and more like each Protoss look's is completely determined by their faction and psionics.

Artanis had a smooth face, and short Nerve Chords. Sure, it was kind of a flub, but I always entertained the idea that not all nerve chords are equal depending upon the race, just like with human's and the sizes of different parts of the brain. Different, but it practically, and I mean day to day practically, has no affect on anything.

I liked the Mothership profile, but the one holding the crystal on the former page? Nah. I like the old one much more.

We found out Artanis' appearance in Brood War was the result of a misunderstanding; the modelers thought he was a Dark Templar, when in fact the writers intended him to be a Templar.

I agree. Nowadays Protoss are your generic humanoids. I don't mind seeing a little more muscle bulk on the Protoss, but the alien proportions and individual characteristics have all be subdued substantially. Character models can easily be substituted for one another. But perhaps that's a conscious choice on the writers' part, to further emphasize their difference with the Zerg. The Protoss are uniform to the Zerg's heterogeneity.

Doesn't mean I like it though.
    Aaand sold.

Blizzard also says that Zerus is a lush, jungle world and that Jim Raynor is madly in love with a disgusting creature from an entirely different species.

If Blizzard said up was down, would you believe them?

Translation: I be on that sarcasm shit.

Artanis was wrong; this is warcraft in space.
It can't be just a coincidence that the character that said this has become the greatest example of just how like WarCraft StarCraft has been forced into being.

I think Blizzard is trolling us.

Only since 1996. Not enough time to get used to their schizophrenic behavior

Guess that makes me the latecomer. I jumped in during the winter of 1998 (thanks be unto Blockbuster and StarCraft 64. )

I didn't actually play their games until StarCraft's release but I watched my brother play tons of Diablo and WarCraft II.

My condolences for being introduced with StarCraft 64. 'Bout as bad as being introduced to Diablo with Diablo 3.

    Rest In Peace, Old Friend.
