Thread: Unit Pictures

Robear, what about the Colossus leg beside the Templar? I don't think the leg piece if see is just the first articulation of the Colossus, it seems like all the first half of the leg until its "knee". And the "knee" seems to be about 40% of the Colossus' height in other concept art.

EDIT: Also, why are broodlings so big? They seem at least as big as bulls. Making the broodlord a cow-catapult.

Are you seriously considering the manga? The ones that have the zergling impaling the marine with a single spindly limb and raising him, 1000lbs. of armor and all, off the floor (much like any other anime martial arts scene; no different really)? No way in hell they do anything but jump on top of them and pound the crap out of them in a method resembling assault with a pick axe, like the games (what's with all that knocking sound effect business; wouldn't make sense otherwise). Anything else would disobey laws of physics, considering the zergling's size and that of marine armor.

Zerglings have hooked limbs with talon-things attached to them, so my guess is they jump on top of their target, grab hold with these sorta claws that can dig into anything (and probably scale and grab hold of anything; so the big shoulder plate of a marine's armor is probably no different; just hold onto a fold or the curve of the helmet or something), and the hanging limbs swoop down like a pick axe (leverage = power), rather than curve any which way like a sword or spear would (which is completely silly, disregarding that they could even move that way).

If the opponent is agile, then the zerglings would probably attack much like wolves - attempting to trip it by grabbing hold with their jaws and then yanking with their legs (zerglings have short necks, so not so much head action; I dunno, just using my imagination), or ramming it in center-mass with their tusk and chitin-protected heads (their strong hind quarters would help them build up the quick inertia needed to do so).

But, yeah, they're definitely buried in the ice or folded up or something, as their legs look really short here. :P
Matter of perspective. The head is very large for slightly cartoonish reasons - and also, I guess blizz thought the head would be more recognizable than the legs.

It seemed apparent to me that there is a cliff in front of the colossi, or that they are in a large pit.
    Aaand sold.

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

    Yes. Because its still canon.

Again. In stories, Canon trumps physics.

You would know that by now with the whole Petaton nukes smaller than dropships (when they should be the size of aircraft carriers for the materials involved) and all the other things that rape the laws of reality.

What was the canon formula again?

Doesn't the canon have a reputation of contradicting itself at every opportunity?

Where do you get that from? When they nuke a planet, it could very well only mean they nuke every population center, which is sorta like nuking a planet if you destroy all possibility of further civilization (even though they rebuilt in like 2 years or something).

Since there is no canon policy, everything is equally canon if its a material sponsored in one way or form by Blizzard.

No. Its not nearly as bad as 40k or Star Trek.

Uh, no. They nuked Korhal until all was left was a Superheated black ball of glass with 1000 nukes, each smaller than a dropship. We're talking an Exatons of TNT level of event, which means petatons per nuke, and these firecrackers are left aboard ships treated like trash like the Cyrus. Not to mention the handheld Teraton bombs from the Marauder's short story or the moon destroying nukes from Spectre, or how the Terrans terraform planets after the Protoss purify them down to the mantle and sometimes the core in places of severe infestation in a single year.

The Zergling in comparison really isn't that bad.

Just because it "really isn't that bad" in comparison doesn't make it okay. Don't justify things by how bad other things are. I don't like to strawman, but apply that to a mass murderer when you've only killed one person. Your actions, by comparison, might not seem as bad. They're still despicable.

Really isn't that bad to break physics in fiction isn't necessarily a bad thing. We all know that Starcraft will always have rule of cool above physically possible mechanics. They've been doing it for years and its literally everywhere in their fictions. Accepting some and not the others is cherry picking. As in, I don't think its bad at all.

Sure, some people say it breaks suspension of disbelief, but by this point, if you accept everything in the story (except Free Haven's bullshit) you'll be fine with what not. Zerg are immortal beings that are possibly perpetual motion machines. Ripping apart a Terran Marine by just leaping through him is alright with me.

There's one thing about what makes fiction fiction and another about crimes against other human beings. They're very different and comparing them...is quite off.

So you're OK with the Zerg's Blatant lubricantess buttrape of all 4 laws of thermodynamics by their mere EXISTENCE, but you just don't buy Raynor & his merry band of 'Expendables in Space' roflpwning Selendis' fleet with a surgical strike?
