Really nice new zerg drawings, Just curious if you could post an updated to-do list for stuff other than LotV to draw.

I don't have an official list put together like I used to, because I'm just kind of doing random stuff until LotV comes out. Along with these recent terran and zerg revamps, I'd like to redo some of the oldest Protoss drawings (the phoenix is pretty ugly), but I'm waiting to see if LotV will have new high-detail versions.

But, here are some of the ones that I plan on doing. I might be forgetting some:

    -Gantrithor
    -Overmind
-the jeep thing from the Wasteland patrol cinematic.
    -Pirate capital ship
    -Security bot
    -Light infantry (from ghost)
    -Drop Pod
    -The prison ship from HotS
    -The Void Seeker
    -Preserver
    -Abathur
    -Dehaka
    -Hive
    -Egg
-Hurricane Missile battlecruiser thing (we were discussing the name a few pages back but I still haven't drawn it)
    -Maybe the archangel superviking.
    -Maybe a Zerg Hive
    -Maybe other buildings.
-Probably not the HotS campaign Zerg variants and primal zerg.
    -Autoturret and Point Defense drone
    -Maybe the laser drill

And then if I want to go back to doing the heroes there's also Swann and Izsha and Ulrezaj and Artanis... And an Adjutant maybe.

So, obviously there's a ton more material floating around if I'm really going for completeness. But also a lot of these are units that most people really don't care about. People want to see how hydralisks and marines stack up, which is why I'm polishing up those core units a bit. Also it takes less work than those capital ships.

Then just for fun there are a couple designs from the SC alpha I want to throw in, like this protoss carrier and maybe these Zerg mineral carriers.

I really like those two designs for some reason, hah.

Of course you'd like the defiler, Defilerrulez. Here's that protoss picture he mentioned:

In this picture, if you look at the hydralisk spines embedded in his chest, there are bursts of blue blood around them, and there's also some blue spatter in the air on the right. The hydra's blood is green, probably so the picture is less violent for international audience.
But then if you look at the wounds in the Zealot's exposed stomach, it looks like they're bleeding purple blood. What? Is Protoss blood purple? And why is it blue in his upper body? (Unless the blue liquid is just some fluid that's in his armor, like all the blue fluid that spills out when dragoons die, and purple is the official blood color.
I guess we'll maybe see some wounded protoss in LotV and find out.

I'm lovin' the recent focus on the Zerg. I do have one query about the re-touched Defiler though (not a criticism) though. Wondering why you've reduced all the legs down alongside the length of it's body into mere spikes? The poor thing won't be able to move fast having to drag that heavy tail behind it.

If you look closely, the entry points of the spikes don't appear to be on any "flesh" but rather the pauldron. So yeah, it kinda looks like Protoss technology bleeds blue (like the Dragoon) but the Protoss themselves bleed purple.
Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

When I did the old drawing, I was consciously trying to stay away from Mr. Jack's design. So, all there was to go on was the in-game unit (though I hadn't found this high-res version of the manual render until 2014):

As you can see, it doesn't actually have legs going all the way down its tail, that was an original thought I had to make it grosser looking. And I don't even think I wanted them to be functional legs, I just wanted the bits of carapace sticking out to end in waving segmented bug-like brown spikes instead of the solid blocky spikes all over the Starcraft 2 designs.

But, times change, and Mr. Jack's design became more-or-less official. Even though it wasn't completed in time, an official model was made for HotS following his look, which is much flatter to the ground and has the prominent spikes along the tail found in my new drawing.

You can see I still replaced a few things with buggy details. Like, instead of having the biggest, blockiest spikes at the end of the tail, mine has little antennae things. But the Mr. Jack design is pretty clearly what they're supposed to look like now, whereas most of mine was unofficial.

In my new drawing though the legs are a lot smaller than the phillgonzo version, which makes mine look much more like it would have to laboriously drag itself around, like you said. Maybe I'll scale them up.

This does seem to be what it looks like is happening in the picture... With the Zealot armor being relatively thin, I wouldn't have guessed it would be hollow and fluid-filled. Though I guess if they mainly rely on shields, heavy solid armor wouldn't have been the priority.

While I really dig the crest of spikes going around the beck and back of the Defiler, similar to the Corruptor, I'm actually a little surprised you didn't draw any parallels between the Defiler and the Viper, given that the Viper is an evolution of the Defiler.
    Aaand sold.

I don't even know if they are related, the Viper was already found on Zerus between the primal packs and the defiler " contained the DNA of all other zerg breeds" http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Defiler
Ok similar roles, but i don't know if a defiler ever met a Viper that evolved itself on Zerus, maybe they started their evolutionay paths from the same creature, Maybe...

The Defiler was a creature born out of festering, carcinogenic pathogens which were, in essence, the leftover genetic chains from other Zerg strains. This crude support weapon—as dangerous to the enemy as it was to the Swarm itself—evolved into obsolescence after the Brood War. Now, with the need for a specialized support strain, the Swarm seems to have revisited and perfected the Defiler template with genetic data from an as-yet-unknown species, preserving its core functions while excising its unnecessary lethality.

    Thanks i forget about it.
I think that the armor of the zealot drain azure luquid because it must mantain a high contact with the psionic abilities of the zealot itself, like with the dragoon or the immortal.

What's interesting is that Mr Jack's now-official artwork of the Defiler sports a Mephistopholes-like pointed chin, which is shared by the Viper. I wonder if it was an intentional design choice, or simple coincidence.
