Yeah, you guys are right, it doesn't need eyes.

Now the big question, which end is really the front? The small end or the big end?

So far, 1 vote for the small end (me), 1 vote for the big end (Zarxiel). Honestly I like it both ways, though. I guess having the big end in front makes it seem a little brainier.

We have the evidance they don't have eyes, look SC1 portraits

I think is the bigger part the head, because in SC1 portrait the head look very big

I think that the cerebrate is really similar to a SC2 Evolution Chamber...

You could use also these production primal structures to can see that the head should be the bigger part

You will do also the Primalisk ? You can see sme corpses of them on Zerus missions as a Doodad, with the patch 2.1 he gained some movement/attack animations and team color

Some images of Nydus worm (the last is simply silly from the official comics OMFG GIANT HYDRA UNDERGROUND)

    Ain't that cerebrate a cutey?

I think the small end would be it's head because if it was an up-scaled version of the original Zerg parasite, the smaller end would have an easier time entering and burrowing through it's host. With that in mind, would you consider adding some pincers instead? Larvae have pincers, so why shouldn't the cerebrates as some sort of evolutionary hold-over? Either way, even if you don't add any distinguishing parts to identify its head, I also like the ambiguity of it.
Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

This OFFICIAL portrait I think is the proof the Cerebrate head is the bigger part, the name too Cerebrate (derivated to Cerebro (Brain in spanish)) suggest he have a very big brain for control a brood, so the bigger part contain the brain, and the Cerebrate DON'T have pincer or something like that, how you see that?

^ Well, the original Mutalisk portrait doesn't show it's "head" but it's orifice that shoots the glaive wurms. Given the lack of distinguishing features, it could be anything really. I was only making a suggestion with that pincer/mouth - I don't care if it ends up having one or not.

Here ALL official images of the Cerebrates

Both Portrait look like the head is the bigger parts.
In the model ingame we can see the bigger part is more evident and the smaller is not very visible, I think this is for make the head more evident
In the artwork we can see the body look like a brain, but the bigger part is more similar, here too the bigger part is more evident, for evidence the head I think

I just can not imagine the smaller part as the head, I just can not: S

The Mutalisk is not a proof about that, and I think that is a head too (I think Muta have 2 heads, the upper command the body, the lower don't have any intelligence but have only the job to create the glave worm)

Is a Brain-Like creature... It is obvious that the head is the biggest part

Here's the thing. The cerebrate is a brain, just like the overmind. It has no defined movement system because it's psionic powers, or the Overmind's, can do that. It should feed through creep, like the rest of the Zerg buildings. Essentially, every system other than the nervous and circulatory systems were left behind in the evolution of the cerebrates. It's whole body is a head/brain. We like to believe everything has a head/face, because we need to speak to it. However, there's really no point in wondering about a face in such creature because interactions are made directly between brains. Thoughts just happen.

The remains of the original worm head is probably the small end.
The place where we would "talk" to a cerebrate is the large end, according to SC and BW.

Note: This is how I imagine the original Zerg worm's infestation:

So for you the smallest part is the old head and the biggest part is the newer head? Is a good theory
