Time for a Protoss anatomy thread! Wuhu!

We think so hard about everything :S ^^

A detailed view of Terran warships would also be amazing.

I just hope there is a ton of new models for LotV. We need a larger universe again

Way ahead of you. 14'' by 31''. Made a lot of progress since this scan last year. And I tell you now, I do NOT look forward to inking this monster, much less editing in in Photoshop.

(Yes, that's a drop pod on the far left. It's small and adorable. Leave it alone.)

    Aaand sold.

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

Yea, I knew you were working on them last year. Saw some work of yours earlier ^^ It's nice that you are still working on them.

Yeah. I have the hammer-head section almost finished now. Been working on it on-and-off for a so long that I decided to finally try to finish it off.

I just can't come up with a satisfactory explanation as to what the large disks on the top of the wings are for. Massive antennae? Reactor? Logistics hangars?

I would imagine that they would be responsible for emitting the "exotic energy" need in order to generation Warp Fields by means of Anti Matter emissions of some sort. They also could be the source of the Anti-grav propulsion for a ship that size. This is provided that the Anti-atoms in nature do turn out to "repel" instead of "attract" when in the presence of Gravatonic fields. If you choose this theory, the disks would be akin to large hadron colliders. They'd have a huge ring which is surrounded by solenoids for producing the magnetic traps that contain and direct the anti-atoms and housing the laser complexes for cooling the Anti-atoms to better control them. They are then funneled to the disks centre and emitted through a trap release in a manner that causes the ship to resist gravity by having this anti-matter cloud "repel" it.

I've settled on their purpose(s). But they did remind me of Hadron colliders, with their disc shape. But currently in my rendition, they contain ancillary reactors; contain the gravity accelerators; and the surface of the disc serves long-distance (trans-Koprulu) communications.

Well at least I gave a possible method of how one "accelerates" gravity O.o
I guess what I've proposed would be a "gravitic accelerator" though I'm not sure if that's correctly termed by physics. We still don't even know if gravity is anything beyond a field of spatial geometric deformations so it's awkward to call it an accelerator; unless of course gravitons do in fact exist (evidence really isn't supporting this that much yet). However it's cool to hear you and I seem to have the same idea; just in different uses.
So you're decided to have these large structures become the Artificial G generators while I've stemmed more towards the Alcubierre drive usage by using anti-grav particles (plausible as anti matter) to generate the warp fields.

    Giant ComSats too eh?

Next, our trivial pursuit will explain their apparent FTL coms with these disks causing mini-warp conduits! Woot!

Well gravity is more or less equivalent to acceleration; the results and effects are essentially indistinguishable.

Oh, the cruiser is going to have an Alcubierre drive, just not in these discs. Juday-White warp-field generators , to be exact. The thing I love about projects like this is that research leads to so many interesting things I'd never know about otherwise!

Less comsats and more interstellar FTL communications; they'd allow a squadron on a distant expedition to remain in contact with a distant military hub, for example. I haven't pinned down how it's work though. Should I use the classic Entanglement method, maybe?

Well, with the recent Big Bang discovery, physicists have found "gravity waves", which does lend credibility to graviton theories.
