At this rate we will need a poster for the Leviathan alone. You can make it Robear!

Woah, don't worry guys, I just meant that the Leviathan isn't fun, this project still is. It's not like I'm gonna call it quits after all this. :P

Here's the little cosmetic update from the Minotaur into the "Prototype Super Battlecruiser," sans coloring, of course. Not 100% accurate, but, I like it.

the Hercules class has much different details up close, want a zoomed in pic?

also might want to make the front merge more?
    thoughts on the hurricane class?

Did you have any more information on the Zerg Behemoth? I only have this and that one Zerg wallpaper, I'm still very interested if you know anything else.

I'm aware it (the old battlecruiser model) has different details, but the models, without the textures, are very, very similar. There are very slight differences, but I don't really see them as any more different than the differences between, say, the new and old viking models.

There are other battlecruisers in concept art that are more different that I'd rather include, although I won't unless any of them are 'confirmed' by showing up in a comic book or deleted unit or something.

Like, if they would tell me this was a Hercules-class or Leviathan-class battlecruiser, then I'd be happy.

Hurricane-class, I will include in the LotV version. It's just so cool. :P

Also, this is a nothing update, but, just showing it: this is the way I'm planning on labeling the big chart— with numbers in circles by the ships, and then a key in the lower left corner. This is just it at 1/4th scale, but, you get the idea.

The xel'naga discovered the original zerg on Zerus. The xel'naga gifted the zerg with the purity of essence, making them the counterparts of the protoss, gifted with the purity of form; the zerg and protoss were intended to eventually merge to perpetuate the xel'naga life cycle. At this point the zerg species diverged into two distinct branches; the Zerg Swarm and the primal zerg. The xel'naga created the Overmind to control the zerg swarm and prevent a repeat of the protoss' Eon of Strife. The Overmind oversaw the zerg swarm's rapid evolution, created the cerebrates, and divided the Swarm into broods. The primal zerg, meanwhile, went into hiding to preserve their individuality.
How is this not consistent with the actual zerg as you like to call them
p.s retconning them at this point in the series would be INCREDIBLY stupid

I think you're talking about these things, in which case, no, it only has 3? If you mean something else, feel free to let me know.

Zergdragon, I guess you were replying to a post on an earlier page, or maybe a different thread? I disagree a bit with your assessment of the lore, but I won't get into it just now. At any rate, it doesn't really affect the drawings.

So, the main things I've been working on are the Leviathan (of course), and adding windows to the Terran and Protoss ships (which look really good, I think):

...and I've decided to try to add the Zerg Behemoth... But all I'm coming up with to match the Brood War sources are pretty boring shapes like these.

Should I make up some more interesting features or just go with that?

Hi i am new here but i am following this thread from more than a year, i could have some informations about Behemoth, probably you know yet these infos, anyway i post to you this short story that talk a bit about Behemoths:
    http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/game/lor...s/acid-burns/1

This is the part about the Behemoth (Page 1), it talks about "eyes", possibility to live really much years and "cavernous membranes", is nothing of too important, but better of nothing

    (Sorry for the bad english)

The behemoth groaned, shifting its great mass to ease the pain of battle-born wounds. The protoss fleet had caught it unawares, drifting through space on the sector edge, and the behemoth had paid the price. Now its life was draining, even though the battle was over. Its own life was unimportant, but it carried thousands of other zerg within its cavernous membranes, and they too were in danger if it perished. Moving through space was its natural state, but the act was not without exertion. The old behemoth needed time to recover, to regain energy. It could not do that in the vacuum of space.

The Kerrigan had guided the behemoth to ultimate victory in the battle, at the price of its wounds. Now she looked through its tired eyes, scanning the region for a suitable resting place.

There, in the system ahead. A planet with a nitrous-oxygen atmosphere, and carbon-based life. Life that the behemoth, and the thousands of zerg carried in the cavernous membranes of its body, could consume to survive. To heal. The Kerrigan guided the behemoth towards its destination.

After a time — an hour, a day, a week, a month? Time meant little to one so old — the living ship entered the planet's gravity well. The drifting clouds were thick, obscuring the terrain. When the behemoth broke through, it recognized some features. It had seen other planets like this, with mountains and trees, and green covering the land. It had rested, once, on a planet such as this. There would be rich proteins here, perhaps even mammalian life.

Behemoths are roughly manta ray-shaped, according to the StarCraft wiki.
    Aaand sold.

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.
