Because Corruptor isn't going to be replaced, but reworked.

Given how much reworked it'd have to be...it'll have to be pretty much a new unit. Small changes can't really cut it anymore.

I think it does indeed look like a ground-based Zerg artillery unit. Either that or ground-based dedicated AA, which would be far less useful IMO.

On a side note, it makes me think of what it would look like if a Roach mated with a Hydralisk.

I think it looks like a possible mating of the Ultra and the Baneling personally. Ultraling or Banalisk? Or maybe an evolution of the baneling to become an artillery unit?

A late comment on the Terran teaser: I could see either the arm weapon or the shoulder weapon being a flamethrower. Perhaps a marauder type unit with an arm cannon/flamethrower and a shoulder-mounted aiming apparatus? Too much like a Predator on steroids that way...

1. well it could be a lurker...

i mean considering what blizz has done thus far by making the broodlord morph the corruptor instead of the mutalisk, i wouldn't be surprised if they added a lurker that morphs from a roach instead of a hydra. the roach is already famed with tunneling claws and those front claws look like their for digging.

tunneling claw lurkers? at this point blizzard wouldn't call it broken.

2. it could be a zerg immortal.

you got hellions burning down all the zerglings, you got siege tanks blowing up all the roaches, and hydras are no help so what else do you have to rely on the ground besides banelings and infestors? the giant shell on it's back could be something you mix with your swarm against damage that a roach can't take.

a Biovore. seriously? your going to compare a Biovore to something that not even remotely resembles it? the thing looks more like a zergling with a railgun on it's back than what blizz just showed us which looks like a hermit crab.
