    Default Your View on Death

Do you fear it, attempt to delay it, or accept it as inevitable? Broadly speaking, how do you feel about death?

"And so the fourth rider shall appear, Death itself upon his pale steed. Though few hear of him, and fewer still see him, all know his presence. For he is felt within the deepest confines of the soul as his eyes watch and his touch carries his will."

IIRC there is a quote on a movie (I don't remember name) that I liked upon the subject:

"We shouldn't try to avoid death, but that doesn't mean we should seek it"

I don't fear death, not as much as I fear other things. But it depends on how I die.
The thing is, I plan to live a long, healthy, happy life before dying in my mid-80s. I shall be greatly upset if a car accident or a heart attack takes me out in my sixties. I also hear talk about indefinitely extending life, but that's not for me.

I think that what people post in this thread will be strongly affected by what they believe comes after death.

If it is even remotely possible to unlock immortality, death will always remain inevitable.

The way I see it is if I die, then I die. It doesn't matter what I feel leading up to it. There is a difference between fearing death/ the act of dying and the fear of not being able to live (a certain way, if you will). Either way, you're not going to be feeling much afterward or ever again (unless you believe in an afterlife). I think that fearing a state that in someways grants you no concept of feeling anyway is kinda pointless. Afterall, I've got plenty of other things to fear in the living world than the dead one. Dying is just a consequence of some of the more legitimate fears of the living world.
Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

I hate death, I feel ill every time I even think about it. Like now

What I think about death depends largely on whose death it is. My death? Meh, who gives a shit. The way I live, I doubt I'll see thirty.

Other people's though? Bugs the shit out of me. I can't stand the idea of losing other people, even though I know it's inevitable.

I feel it's a cosmic cruelty in a way. We are able to do so much with ourselves, and yet are placed in this very short time-frame with which to do it.

I think we should all kill ourselves and save the universe the trouble of finding new and exciting ways to do it for us.

A searing death ray of concentrated solar radiation, slowly melting your whole body in unbearable agony
