    That's still not... a great change. They tried that before and it was really messy. But it's definitely better than the 'no massive' requirement. That just made the spell almost completely useless.

    This provides a bit more contention at least. Though it'll be hard to control colossi and almost impossible to control tanks.

    For some reason the unit drop fix wasn't implemented in 1.4, this means you can still drop every unit between no matter how crowded units abusing the Move+Drop trick, and if the target of the Drop command was in the Fog of War it still ignores any units that may normally prevent units to be unloaded there.

    -Mothership acceleration increased from 0.3 to 1.375.

    We wanted to try to bring in a unit that’s rarely used back into the action in order to potentially create new viable strategies for protoss. In the end, it came down to a choice between the Carrier and the Mothership.

    We decided to go with the Mothership for a variety of reasons, the biggest one being that we felt its maneuvrability required tweaking. As for the acceleration increase itself, we found that the biggest problem was that the unit felt very unresponsive to use. For a unit whose positioning is so important, we felt that making it easier to maneuver made the most sense.

    So...community feels sad that carrier isn't that great with the micro problems and the easy counters and so on. And that's been pretty much since release. So...the mothership gets prioritised for buffing. *sigh* Guess maybe by HotS carriers will be a solid unit to have in an army or they'll just get scrapped.

    The Carrier is powerfull though, there's no arguing it isn't being used, but I belive it's potential is there. I've beaten a zerg when 1 base carriered into 2 base carrier/lot/stalk.

    He scouted properley, saw it and went Hydra, unfortuanltey with 1 or two ground units to ABSORB DAMAGE, the carriers rip hydras to pieces. And any early attacks were squelched since zerg has no early anti-air. I think vs zerg at least it has potential. MY FAV UNIT IS NOT DEAD... .i refuse to allow it to be.

    The carrier is a piece o' crap in SC2. It's hard countered by basically everything. Blizzard admitted they are perfectly fine with impractical cost-ineffective units that you would only build to embarrass your opponent, so I laugh at the people who think every unit in the game that isn't being used must have some sort of "undiscovered niche".

    That's what they also say about the Corrupter, Hydralisk, Ultralisk, Mothership, Battlecruiser and Raven, too.
    See? That's a lot of units that need to become more useful.

    Corrupter -> Give him something worthwhile. An ability, perhaps?
    Hydra -> More HP or lower tier.
    Ultra -> Additional armor, perhaps? Give it its AoE attack back?
    Mothership -> Make it easier to get? (IE Stargate prerequisite instead of Fleet Beacon and/or built at Stargate with Fleet Beacon prerequisite and/or lower build time or cost)
    Carrier -> Make it Faster?
    Battlecruiser -> Faster build time?
    Raven -> More HP? Make it Faster? Not sure.
