Oh, I now see what kind of delay you were all talking about. I'm with Wankey on it though. This delay might be removed for Progaming, but I really don't think it is bugging the whole multiplayer aspect.

I always noticed this in BW, particularly with zealots. I thought I was just imagining it, or it was just lag on my end.
I agree with Wankey on the Uncanny Valley aspect.

@Wankey: I doubt it. If StarCraft 2 is anything like WarCraft III or StarCraft: Brood War then the animations aren't as tied to the damage calculation as you think.
Unlike the previous games, however, I have not touched the editor and, therefore, I admit I have no experience with the inner workings of the game.
Rest In Peace, Old Friend.

What else could we use as parameters to measure damage calculations if is not animation timing (more important on ranged attackers like the Stalker)? I do remember there was a trick in WC3 called "cancel animation" (or something like that) which triggered damage reduction calculations and the full attack animation was not displayed.

It was the backswing animation, first there was a casting/attack animation that had to proceed before anything happened. (this could be canceled by a stun from the enemy) and then there was a backswing animation which you could tell your unit to walk away, the cooldown was unaffected by this.
So basically the animation was divided into 2 parts. And I think the animation changeling was an intended thing. To give a small edge to those that microed single units.

Screw pro-gaming, if anything this game needs more elements of chance, not fewer. You don't see professional golfers bitch because the wind doesn't keep a nice steady 4mph from the NE throughout the entire tournament.
Superior capability in language does not necessarily equate to superior intelligence...but it certainly doesn't help your argument if you sound stupid.

well it makes pro gaming more intense, instead of "we already know the unit on the right side will win" it will be "omg omg who will win!"
