    The Blizz tech support department would never get any rest if it tried to support the editor. Can you imagine all the people calling in & asking for help on their maps. :P

    An easy-mode interface would be helpful, but they were busy adding more features & control to the editor. Plus an easier interface becomes unnecessary when you take some time to figure out what fields are most commonly used & ignore the other ones.

    They're actually very easy compared to data editing IMHO. Same as war3 & staredit. Haven't touched the galaxy scripting language yet though.

    Fair enough but they could at least give us a couple damn tutorials. Of course there are tutorials out there now, but only because fans had to figure out the editor for themselves and were nice enough to make tutorials for others.

    Which means that those other fields are a complete waste of time, pointless distractions and complications. I can understand that I might *want* to give the Yamato Cannon a different graphic, but I shouldn't have to go through this much trouble to get the original one working. When I give my Goliath the Yamato Cannon ability, I should not have to jump thorugh hoops just to get the ability to work properly. I mean, in the first place that the cannon's firing graphic doesn't appear when the actual ability and sounds work fine, is a complete non-issue, it should not be a problem. And second, the editor is so complicated that I have no clue at all how to solve this problem.

    EDIT - Also a non-issue, that I place a bridge and units can't walk over it. Creating a bridge over a chasm for units to walk over is a one-step process, or it should be if the map editor was better designed. I'm sure of course there's an obvious and simple solution I'm too dumb to figure out, but I stand by that point.

    What's missing from the community, imo, is a stable workflow that supposed "experts" could have shared. I understand this though. When you take notice of tutorials, it's always about a specific thing to make. This is because most things you make in the editor doesn't have the same things.

    The yamato and say fungal are different, for example.

    It's more like lego really.

    I may have made things sound epic difficult, but it's not.

    As it is said, and I quote:

    "When an obstruction lasts for a while, one gets to know it, one realizes what it is, its why and how, and that announces its end. What one knows, one can handle and overcome. That also goes for interests which do not last: obviously they were not life giving, but obstructing. Even without being aware of it one lets them fade away. "
