God, I hope Diablo III does not disappoint like StarCraft II did.

Nothing can meet the expectations. I just don't want to be disappointed![]()

I think you haven't read the whole thing...the press event revealed the Auction House. Yes, it will cost money BUT it is basically replacing third party "shady" sites like d2jsp for a more secure way. Because lets be honest; even without AH there was going to be item farming and selling.
Still there is a gold-based Auction House for us who don't want to use money, as it should be.
Auction house approved.
Not gonna sell or buy personally though.
Micro-transactions in my Diablo 3?
Its more likely than you think.

I'm actually pretty happy about this. Blizz is right - it totally cuts out the shady part of the deal. You're guaranteed to get an item. Not a duped item, not a scam. It really is delivering what players wanted. AND I think the real brilliance, the thing that people haven't fully thought about yet - is how casual this makes the game. I think it is a fantastic decision - it allows people who love and grew up with Diablo to be "good" and not have to grind forever. I spent hundreds of hours in college playing d2. I loved it - but with my fulltime obligations, I would never be able to be "good" at D3.
Now, I at least have the option, even if I never use it.

You all probably know (if you are reading this thread) that this new information on the game caused a huge outrage in a part of the community and it felt somewhat like Stacraft 2 pre-Beta all over again...
