And I can't believe its not butter!

... but seriously, everyone knows that Islam is getting stronger in Europe as more and more Muslims escape the Middle Eastern shithole. It is an actual problem reported even in Canadian news.

We are opening our doors to hundreds of Muslim families because their countries are falling apart. A Muslim women has a much higher fertility rate than a traditional Canadian women. If the current fertility and immigration rate continue on this trend, you don't need a statistic degree to realize that in a couple of years, half of the Canadian population could in fact be Muslim.

Now, if Muslims were not so conservative, I couldn't care less. The problem is, most of them keep to their beliefs and traditions. If their beliefs do not get influenced enough by their new neighbors(us), we could have some serious problems down the road (aka: block on progress).

I'm not like "omfg! terrorists are everywhere!", I'm just concerned that there might be an increase in the percentage of conservative religious practitioners which would consequently not be good for progress. I think it is a valid concern just like any other demographic change that could occur in my country (the aging population of Canada for example).

Very true. The Muslim invasion is not limited to Europe, it is happening here too. I just think I don't notice it as much here because I'm so used to the stench by now.

This sucks. and its gonna keep sucking. I can barely even begin to speculate how it will impact the societal climate, here in the nordic countries on medium/long term.

The crimes this man committed is far worse than people around here could have previously imagined one man of committing, here, making victims, children and fellow citizens he basically grew up alongside. after this, he's smiling in the court room. i fear the punishments available may come off as a joke. it might'a been better if they just shot him dead. That, i cant believe im saying...

.. the progress and sustainability of a democratic welfare state more than any other depends on openness, trust and inclusion. shit like this can fuck things up.

If it helps Todie, I fully support the death penalty. Some people just deserve to die. They forfeit their right to live by taking another's.

There are perfectly justifiable reasons to kill someone.

The only justifiable reason to kill someone is if they killed someone else first. I will always believe that those who steal must have their property taken, those who rape be raped themselves, and those who kill be killed in kind. Letting these aggressive tendencies breed is not conducive to a functioning civil modern society and they must be nipped in the bud quickly and efficiently. All studies show there would be less manslaughter if the death penalty was pushed through instead of life sentences. The reason there is a life sentence is because somehow it actually costs the government (and thus tax payers) more to kill a man than incarcerate him for 25 years, and with a death penalty there's no going back if evidence is recovered to prove the killed convict's innocence.

The ability to make that kind of moral choice and deny our primitive destructive instincts is what puts us above the other lifeforms on this planet. Choice is humanity's greatest accomplishment. Every single person on this planet (barring babies and the mentally ill) could decide, right now, to never hurt anyone ever again. It won't happen, of course, because so many people don't want to deny lust, greed, and rage, but theoretically it is possible.
