Yeah, he probably should've gone for a macro game. I think that he got tempted to end the game quickly, when he saw the CC first.

Foreign tournaments are so so so lucky with their finals. GSL finals pale in comparison in terms of the excitement and how close it felt.

Another case of MC's hyperaggression working against him.

LOL....this closing UnderlineENT song doesn't fit well. They should have done the

(winner spoiler). It'll just induce zerg tears that Terran and Protoss are OP.

I've always enjoyed PvT over TvZ in terms of excitement level. Just feel like slapping terrans for not making a raven when they end up floating like 1k gas at the end.

EDIT: Nice finals but still don't feel like my money for the season was well spent. General production problems ruined it for me. Pretty good job from NASL but not enough for me. A lot of the enjoyment came down to the players and not the tournament which I'm paying for.

with all said and done, im glad i watched it. but as season two starts so soon, but its a poor prodution over all and i dont see it improving that quickly either, i think they are buisy with day-to-day stuff, fulfilling their business plan or whatever and not fully able to step back and determine the root cause of the endless list of production-quality issues.

the huge prize pools sort f guarantees a high elvel of play and excitement in the end though, andi guess the NASL prize will be one of the absolute top-dogs for a while, making the leagues poor production feel all the more awkward.

Well, did my best to be a good poster, and originally put this in the 'E-sport' section of the forum. However, since I actually want someone to read it I'll do a quick, 'ninja' post here...I seriously had no idea this event would be the success it was, and I think its a big turn for gaming, e-sports, etc....

    ------

Literally blocks away from me, (well, a cheap cab ride, really.) one of the Lower Haight's (San Francisco) more infamous sports pubs, "The Mad Dog in the Fog" hosted a showing of the NASL finals in front of God and everyone last Sunday! Actually not sure what the hell to expect, but I certainly didn't expect there to be so many SC fans, that the bar would have to begin turning people away. TBH, what I expected was maybe 5-7 guys wearing sunglasses and asking around nervously, "Umm....is this where they're showing the Starcraft finals...?"

Pretty good time if you can imagine a bunch of SC fans getting sloshed, talking gaming, and cheering on the best SC players in the world. - There was even wimmins there! Going to see if I can get one going at my pub.

With the recent djWHEAT vs Kotaku fiasco I am really hesitant to give them a page view. It's always awesome community wise to have these things. Overall, I'm still disappointed in the event. For the prize pool it offered the production quality just didn't seem to be there.

I agree. It would be one thing if they didn't charge, but it wasn't fair to charge people and then deliver....that. On the up side, it didn't take much beer to get you to forget about it.

Didnt hear about the djWHEAT vs Kotaku thing, so not sure what that is....but the link is rick-roll free if thats what that means.

Huge Kotaku rant and some explanation of the djWHEAT vs Kotaku:
    Hidden Content:
Well Kotaku basically put out a story written by one of their interns bashing "eSports". Basically calling it a joke and it's not worthwhile to watch professional gamers play games. And the article was a joke since it took over 3/4 of its content from quoting another article. Then there was an apology article...that didn't actually say sorry or recognise how much the author doesn't know anything at all about eSports and is not qualified to write about it.

djWHEAT bashed the article and the writer for being completely ignorant and just trying to stir up the community to garner views for Kotaku. Then in response to the article Doa wrote an article on sixjaxgaming.com and there was an article written on PC Gamer website basically telling the Kotaku writer how they didn't even attempt to get any facts about eSports especially the timing of the article when eSports was seemingly booming with the fighting games, SC2, LOL, Halo, etc. Additionally talking about how they just write off eSports without giving it a chance. The PC gamer article writer was notable for saying he didn't think at first he would get sucked into the eSports community but it just happened with SC2 and he hopes the Kotaku writer gives it a chance.

And then now Slasher had a guest article on Kotaku and there were apparently some more articles about eSports on it. But personally the way they decided to get into covering eSports is so....asshole-ish. They wrote a bashing article, got a huge amount of negative feedback from rivals and the eSports community then upon realising the community was quite large and vocal they attempt to do a 180. That article you linked might actually be one of the "180 attempts" by Kotaku.

Personally I'll just never visit Kotaku because of what they did. Carelessly allowing an intern to write and publish an article alienating and disapproving of a section of the gaming community.

Well that explains few things - Guess I'll take their word from here on in with a grain of salt. However, it was still a great time, and turning into a very interesting trend for gaming. (if it takes off)

I told my pub-owner friend about it, and he is chomping at the bit to organize one for his place - sent him the barcraft link, and currently trying to figure out how to get his setup in the bar connected.
