There are at least three guides to Lost that are several hundred pages in length...
*sigh*

So now that we got a year long hiatus before next season, a show similiar to this one is vampire diaries. i.e. supporting characters get killed off on a regular basis and the plot twists just blow your mind (I'd actually say it has more of this than game of thrones since it's quite a fast paced show that gets on with the plot asap, nothing drags on).
I'm looking for more similar shows though.

i beleive i watched the first episode of that, after witch i labelled the show a cheap twilight knock-off that was nothing but surface and vampire clichés. i dont think im prepared to reassess my opinion on this one. vampires are kidna last decade; i dont think ill even keep up on true blood.
I am an enthusiast of good strategy games, sc2Esports and rollplay, although i dont really play anything atm.
I work an internship at a government agency this fall, and have a good time at it.

I watched the first few episodes of that show, with high expectations, and instead it felt like it was just a teenage drama with some vampires mixed in.
I dunno, maybe I should give it another chance...
As for other shows, I'm currently watching some of the older HBO series. I'm pretty much done with Oz, and am currently watching Rome, followed by The Wire.
I'd highly recommend both Oz and Rome. Both of these shows have rich plots, twists and (!) main characters that get killed off once in a while : ) Definitely something you should check out, though these shows might not be as fast paced as GoT.
Yeah, for me, the show basically went down hill after season 1.

Just got done catching up on Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Such a sick show. If you haven't watched it, go now! Lots of sex & violence.
Yeah...it's too bad so many people were turned off by the first few episodes because they were a twilight rip-off. After you get into it though the teen drama bullshit only helps to drive the story IMO. It's pretty dark, but if you don't like vampires then yeah I'd stay away. I never watched true blood or any vampire shows before though so that might be the only reason I think it's good. :P
I'll check this out, but I don't know if it can be slower than GoT.

Lol! Have you read the original A Song of Ice and Fire series by any chance? Because that's... even.... slow...... er.
P.S.: Finally! Another guy who likes The Vampire Diaries!! It's ridiculous how often I have to justify it to others. If anything, it's a deconstruction of the supernatural romance genre.

I've seen Rome Twice. its great. not quite as great as Deadwood and The wire, bu almost. All of these shows have motehrfuycking prodound plots and characters, rooted in actual history / societal development... i watched Deadwood twice aswell, (wacthing again when sharing with gf) and ive recently started rewatching The wire as well.

The main emphasis of Spartacus was definitely violence and 300-esque scenes of people getting killed , but the show definitely got deeper and deeper plot wise as the series progressed. The second season in particular, was really enjoyable.
I've watched a few episodes of both Rome and The Wire. So far, The Wire has really caught my eye. It feels almost refreshing in a way, compared to the TV series made today.

Well, almost done with season 1 of Rome. Interesting historical context, but can't say it's that interesting. Hope it gets better soon.
You reading Dance with Dragons yet? I'm 300 pages in and:
Haha, that it is, but I don't tell anybody I know that I watch that show. :PHidden Content:
