I just got done reading "I, Mengsk" and was a bit curious about Chuck Horner, Arcturus' former second in command. He leaves to get married some time around prior to Arcturus' Korhal uprising IIRC, could it be that Matt Horner is his son??

Hmm very possible. Chuck Horner went to live on Mar Sara after his military days with Mengsk, it's possible he had a son, who later served with Raynor.

I'm thinking Matt Horner enlisted with the Sons of Korhal because of his fathers' (Chuck) good experience with Mengsk when they were in Dominion squadron. Then obviously went to Raynor's side soon after.
I'm just wondering if the timelines fit. Matt horner would have to have been born roughly around the same time as Valarian Mengsk; maybe a year or so off?

I believe the timeline does fit. Keep in mind that Valerian & Matt had to have been conceived before the Guild Wars (which Valerian was, and Chuck met a woman named Carla on leave which he married). Otherwise, since the Guild Wars were over in 2489, Matt would have to be 15 years old if he met Carla directly at the end.

I thought there was some reference to the elder Horner mentioning settling down and starting a family, ie siring Matt.

Dude, when I first saw the title I thought it was some reference to the old rhyme,
but then I remembered that was Jack Horner, not Chuck.
But now that you mention it I remember this guy from the book. The age would be about right and everything.
Holy shit they are setting up for a pretty sweet story.

Are the timings right? I don't think the age is right. IIRC Matt Horner is about the same age as Valerian.

I hope there is no relation. I really don't want to see Starcraft go the way of so many other franchises and make every main character related and interconnected somehow.

Wasn't Matt Horner in the same position of the Hyperion during SC1 era? Or did he become in charge of it simply from Raynor's take over?
Anyways, a timeline would help greatly lol.
